The University of Florida College of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine (UF EM) is part of the UF Health Shands Hospital and Academic Health Center, which is north Central Florida’s largest teaching institution, a level 1 trauma center and burn center and a major referral center for the southeast region.
The UF EM faculty, fellows, residents and staff provide services to our community in four Gainesville facilities: a level 1 trauma center; a pediatric E.R.; and two hospital based remote emergency departments. These four facilities have an annual volume of more than 130,000 patient visits annually, and serve a 13-county catchment area.
