EpiCare@Home: Enabling virtual epilepsy care
Overview
For people with epilepsy, the journey to the right treatment and acceptable quality of life is cumbersome. Neurologists and patients will benefit from diagnostic wearable medical devices to monitor seizures over longer periods. EpiCare@Home is an end-to-end service to support neurologists and generate epilepsy insights outside the hospital. It assists trained healthcare professionals in treating people with epilepsy using a collection of medical devices that acquire and analyze wearable EEG data, together with other physiologic and behavioural data. Using the Byteflies Sensor Dots together with custom electrode adhesives, we can monitor seizures for up to 4 weeks in the daily life of adults and children. Potential epileptic events are derived from the collected data so neurologists only have to think about what’s important to their patient’s health. The sample-level and vital sign data are visualized with the event annotations in an integrated dashboard, to assist with clinical decision-making.
Ultimately, we aim to fast-track the journey to the right treatment and impact the lives of many affected by epilepsy.

It is medically certified in the EU and we filed a 510(k) premarket notification. A clinical validation trial at Thomas Jefferson University is ongoing in the US.
