The Sexual Health School Launches Certificate in Sexual Health Program & Offers $300 Scholarships for Latinx and BIPOC Pre-licensed and Licensed Psychologists and Mental Health Therapists
Honolulu, HI, June 20, 2023 – This month, The Sexual Health School announced the launch of its website featuring AASECT and APA- human sexuality CE courses. The online therapy platform aims to promote sex-positive educational courses in a safe and inclusive environment to medical and mental health professionals, especially members from the Latinx and Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities who are licensed or pre-licensed.
The tailored courses are offered online via live synchronous and self-paced asynchronous learning programs, and are led by expert-level professionals who specialize in a wide range of complex and high-in-demand topics spanning the human sexuality spectrum.
The courses are rigorously designed to meet the AASECT certification needs of graduate students, therapists, counselors, and wellness providers but are available to psychologists seeking to earn APA continuing education credits.
The company’s founder, Dr. Janet Brito, saw the need to create a service offering that caters to underrepresented groups and individuals seeking sex-positive resources. The school’s core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion ensure that healthcare professionals learn the skills they need to serve their client communities and advance their careers as leaders in the sexual health field. “Having instructors in the classroom that look like you is at the heart of The Sexual Health School’s learning space. Representation enhances students’ learning experience about sexual health. Our focus is to provide the skills and training that aspiring human sexuality counselors, educators, and therapists need to help members of their communities re-discover pleasure and thrive.”
The Sexual Health School is committed to increasing the representation of Latinx and BIPOC sexual health providers. Our goal is to destigmatize human sexuality in underrepresented communities to promote empowerment and provide human sexuality educational resources in a safe and inclusive environment. All courses are AASECT and APA-approved.
To increase access to Latinx and BIPOC students, The Sexual Health School offers a Latinx and BIPOC $300 scholarship. To apply, email a video to thesexualhealthschool@gmail.com or write a personal statement telling us why you are interested in obtaining certification in sexual health, how you will use the certificate to help your community, and briefly describe your financial need for the scholarship.
