  • Quantum is a functionally closed, perfusion-based, automated cell expansion system that features reporting, user authentication and power failure recovery features, providing more control over the cell culture process. Quantum has been proven effective in the consistent expansion of adherent cells, suspension cells, viral vectors and exosomes.

    How it Works

Continuous media perfusion, temperature control, cell feeding and waste removal provide process control over the cell culture environment. Operators can monitor and adjust key cell culture process parameters via the touch screen. Cells are harvested in as little as 20 minutes.

    Compact, Functionally Closed System

Maintain and customize temperature, gas control and media perfusion. The small 0.3-m2 footprint can save valuable clean room and incubator space when compared to flask-based cell expansion.

    120 T-175 Flasks = One Bioreactor

The commercial bioreactor used with Quantum provides substantial surface area in minimal space. It contains about 11,500 hollow fibers with a cell culture surface area of 2.1 m2, equivalent to that of 120 T-175 flasks. This effective use of lab space results in facility, storage and workflow savings.

Direct Gas Connection: Hypoxic and Normoxic Conditions

A direct gas connection allows operators to control the cell culture environment, enabling any gas blend connection to Quantum. An internal investigation demonstrated that hypoxic and normoxic conditions make no significant difference in cell yield, viability, or phenotypic, morphological or differentiation potential.

  • FINIA® Fill and Finish System

The First of Its Kind in Automated Fill and Finish

Finia is an automated system that formulates and aliquots fluids, including cell suspensions, to prepare for cryopreservation. It consists of a device, a handheld barcode scanner, a monitor with a touch screen and functionally closed single-use disposable tubing sets.

Facilitates current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliance

    • User authentication
    • Data capture and reporting
    • Workflow configuration and control

    Functionally closed

    Gamma-sterilized, single-use disposable sets

    Optimizes processes

    • Custom formulations and dosage ranges from the outset
    • Intuitive user interface guides the operator
    • Accurate, consistent final product with less than 5% difference in cell concentration between bags

Note: Finia users must qualify/validate the use of Finia and compliance to GMP within their own manufacturing (or laboratory) environment according to their own standard operating procedures (SOPS)/quality system.

    Cell Processing Application

Facilitate cGMP compliance with the Cell Processing Application. This stand-alone, server-based software manages the device and procedure data. Procedure data is automatically transmitted between the system and the application while the system is operating. Operators use the application to:

    • Specify processing protocols
    • Configure materials and the device
    • Define users and assign permissions
    • Track tubing sets and materials
    • Record alarms
    • Capture electronic data
    • Generate procedure reports
