With our Richter colleagues, APE Studio helps landscape designers and park planners develop destination and community playgrounds that feature challenging play and natural materials. Our collaborative work builds on this simple principle: “As much play value as possible, as much safety as necessary.”
Richter’s distinctive wood and steel play structures, sensory elements, and water-play equipment can be actively enjoyed at numerous parks worldwide including Madrid RIO, Legoland–Denmark, the Princess Diana Memorial Playground in London, and Gorky Park in Moscow, among many others. In North America, we helped to create dozens of beloved play spaces, including Tulsa’s Gathering Place adventure playground, Smale Riverfront Park in Cincinnati, Martin’s Park in Boston, Governors Island and many others in New York City, including Little Island and the Playscape in Battery Park. One of our most recent projects, Waterloo Park in downtown Austin, features a modular, granite slide.
