Jane Lappin chairs the Transportation Research Board's standing Committee on Vehicle-Highway Automation, co-chairs the National Academies/TRB Forum on Automated Vehicles and Shared Mobility, and is a founding organizer of the Automated Vehicles Symposium. Ms. Lappin is Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs, at the Toyota Research Institute. She was previously a Program Manager at the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, where she led international automated vehicles and ITS research programs. Prior to joining the Volpe Center, Ms. Lappin worked for Abt Associates in its business strategy practice, focused on organizational behavior. She studied sociology as an undergraduate and teaching assistant at Boston University and earned an MBA from Simmons College Graduate School of Management.
