The Department of Special Education at the University of Kansas consistently ranks as one of the top graduate-level special education programs in the country. Students who receive their professional development through the Department have the opportunity to learn and work closely with nationally and internationally renowned faculty. The Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL), housed at the Department, is a national center to improve faculty capacity to use educational technology in special education, early intervention, related services, and leadership personnel preparation programs. Our mission is to influence change that supports the appropriate use of educational technology striving to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
