Welcome to the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center
The Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University provides information, training, and technical assistance for professionals and parents regarding the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students from birth to age 21. It is a federally funded center with exemplary elementary and secondary education programs for deaf and hard of hearing students. The Clerc Center develops and disseminates innovative curricula, instructional techniques, and products nationwide.
We have helpful resources for teachers of the deaf, special education teachers, administrators, early intervention personnel, support service personnel, and others. Available materials focus on language development, bilingual education, working with students with cochlear implants, and more.
