 Press Releases

  • Reno, NV, June 4, 2019 – Olea Sensor Networks, a leader in intelligent sensors and analytic software for sensor network-based systems, will display the next generation of their core technologies and introduce their newest technology, OleaVision360TM, for IoT and IIoT applications at Sensor Expo 2019 in San Jose, June 26-27 at the San Jose Convention Center.

The OleaVision360TM technology is designed for continuous 360o viewing of environments without the use of a rotor. It offers precise detection of objects and humans to depth of information accuracy of +/- 1cm in a detection zone of currently up to 10 meters. Unlike LIDAR, the system is not adversely affected by light or inclement weather and can virtually “see” in the dark. The OleaVision360TM   system also allows for installation within the vehicle or machinery due to both it’s capabilities and small size.

Returning to the spotlight this year is the powerful OleaSenseTM platform for vital sign monitoring with new, lower cost OleaSense-LXTM versions, which feature compatibility with all Linux platforms including Raspberry Pi. Also returning is the newest gen OleaVisionTM Life Presence Detection platform and the OSN QuadcorderTM all with improved capabilities and powered by the latest version of OleaSenseTM intelligent software and software analytics. The OSN QuadcorderTM technology for remote health monitoring applications received media attention by CNET at CES 2018 as among the “best of day two”. All versions of OleaSenseTM offer clinically accurate vital signs collection and biometric authentication capabilities.

Live demos of Olea Sensor Networks technologies will be on display at Sensor Expo 2019 in June. Visit Booth #435 on June 26-27 or contact sales@oleasys.com to set up a meeting.

  • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    Olea Sensor Networks Introduces OleaVision360TM

A novel guided obstacle avoidance and detection technology

Reno, NV, June 11, 2019 – Olea Sensor Networks, a leader in intelligent sensors and analytic software for sensor network-based systems, is now offering the OleaVision360TM, a patent-pending technology for obstacle avoidance and detection for use on drones or stationary installations for Iot and IIot applications.

Today’s drones use onboard computer systems with the assistance of GPS to autonomously navigate a path of GPS waypoints to reach their destination. However, most drones are blind to their surroundings due to lack of situational awareness.

The OleaVision360TM is an innovative sensor that can continuously scan the drone’s surroundings and the terrain below using only one ultra-light weight sensor housed in a 100 mm (4-inch square) device. OleaVision360TM provides outstanding situational awareness with a 360-degree field of view in all 6 directions (front, back, sides, below and above). This single, low-cost obstacle avoidance sensor allows the drone to fly around obstacles in front or behind it with one-centimeter accuracy and a detection range of 20 meters (65 feet). Equipped with OleaVision360TM, a drone can accurately sense the terrain below it, offering true terrain following without compromising effectiveness and precision. Thanks to Olea’s proprietary Life Presence Detection technology OleaVision360TM can discriminate between animated versus in-animate objects.

When used for guidance systems, OleaVision360TM technology provides a substantial advancement in capability for autonomous applications in flight, robotic, industrial and automotive applications.

The OleaVision360TM solution is especially significant for remote inspections in the mining, construction, engineering, agriculture and environmental industries when being able to view from a specific distance or height in order to avoid compromising the existing equipment and sensors already integrated in drones is crucially important. Additionally, OleaVision360TM is robust enough to function in harsh or challenging environments including dust, rain, snow and total darkness without the assistance of any lighting.

Live demos of the OleaVision360TM and all Olea Sensor Networks technologies will be on display at Sensor Expo 2019, June 26 and 27 in San Jose, CA. Visit Booth #435 or contact sales@oleasys.com for more information.

  • As the latest addition to Olea’s IoT technologies, the OleaVision360TM takes the power of OleaVision TM and advances it to an entirely new level for Autonomous Vehicle, Industrial Safety (IIoT), Security and Military applications.

Today’s drones use onboard computer systems with the assistance of GPS to navigate a path of GPS waypoints to reach their destination. However, most drones are blind to their surroundings due to lack of situational awareness in outdoor applications. Similarly, to date, drones have been unable to maneuver in buildings where GPS is denied.

The OleaVision360TM addresses these issues and more. It is an innovative sensor that can continuously scan the drone’s surroundings and the terrain below using only one ultra-light weight sensor housed in a 100 mm (4-inch square) device. OleaVision360TM provides outstanding situational awareness with a hemispherical field of view (front, back, sides, below and/or above) without the use of rotors or beam-forming technologies. This single, low-cost obstacle avoidance sensor allows the drone to fly around obstacles in front or behind it with one-centimeter accuracy and a detection range of 20 meters (65 feet). Equipped with OleaVision360TM, a drone can accurately sense the terrain below it, offering true terrain following precision landing assistance without compromising effectiveness.

The OleaVision360TM solution is especially significant for remote inspections in the mining, construction, engineering, agriculture and environmental industries when needing to view from a specific distance or height in order to avoid compromising the existing equipment and sensors already integrated in drones. Additionally, OleaVision360TM is robust enough to function in harsh or challenging environments including dust, rain, snow and in total darkness without the assistance of any lighting.
