Welcome to VR, The Innovator in Sound & Vibration Technology

Vibration Research (VR) is the innovator in vibration testing control, field data acquisition, and dynamic signal analysis. Our VR9500 Vibration Controller and tightly integrated VibrationVIEW software are used in testing labs around the world, working with electrodynamic, servo-hydraulic, and servo-electric shakers; control options include single-axis, dual axis, dual phase, three-axis, multi-loop, and seismic control. Advanced functions – including iDOF®, FDS, FDR, and Kurtosion® - solve vibration  testing’s most troublesome issues, such as over testing, under testing and predicting a product’s point of fatigue failure.

The new ObserVR1000 Dynamic Signal Analyzer captures, displays, and analyzes field data, controlled by the VR Mobile smartphone app or ObserVIEW software running on a tablet, laptop, or PC. Handling up to 16 channels of transducer input at high sampling rates, the ObserVR1000 also supports microphone, GPS, and tachometer options. You can even time-sync recorded data with video files for unique insights and exceptional reports.

Come by our booth to see these cutting-edge solutions and discuss your testing and analysis requirements

  • Accelerometer Calibration
Calibrate a vibration accelerometer accurately to determine its sensitivity at various frequencies of interest. VR uses the most convenient and least expensive technique (per ISO 16063-21): the back-to-back comparison method, approved by the ISA....

  • Vibration Research uses back-to-back calibration involving coupling the test accelerometer directly to a NIST traceable double-ended calibration standard accelerometer.  Then it drives the coupled pair with a vibration exciter at various frequencies and acceleration (g) levels.  The assumption here is that since the accelerometers are tightly coupled together, both will experience exactly the same motion.  Thus, the calibration of the back-to-back accelerometer can be precisely “transferred” to the test accelerometer.

VR’s Accelerometer Calibration allows you to perform calibration verification on all the accelerometers in your lab.  It provides an easy interface to calculate accelerometer sensitivity.  This will allow the user to perform a sine sweep, controlling on a reference accelerometer, to produce a calibration report suitable for calibration record keeping.  The package automatically calculates the accelerometer sensitivity at the chosen frequency.  The package requires at least 2 input channels, SineVIEW, a reference accelerometer, and a small shaker system.  High Frequency for Sine is required for accelerometers rated over 4,900Hz.
