Micronor Inc. was founded in 2003 in Newbury Park, California and has been a pioneer of innovative Fiber Optic Sensors for industrial and medical applications ever since. The demand for sensors which provide immunity from lightning, EMI/RFI, radiation, voltage and magnetic fields has driven the development of a wide array of fiber optic-based sensors.
Based on an inventive and patented technology of using wavelength as an information carrier, the first product introduced was an incremental encoder used in the transportation, mining, oil and gas industries for position sensing and speed control of VFD drives. An MRI compatible version quickly followed for medical applications.
As a creative and flexible company, Micronor offers a wide range of fiber optic sensors for measuring position, speed, vibration, temperature, and strain. Sensors are available using both SM/MM glass as well as polymer (POF) optical fiber technology.
