The Nexus Panel is a small, DIN-mount cellular gateway designed for industrial panel applications. RS-485 and USB ports allow it to connect to a wide array of PLCs, controllers, sensors and other equipment for live bidirectional monitoring and control. A single digital input acts as an alarm or trigger and a single digital output signals external devices.
It has two daughter card options: a 4-port Ethernet switch or a card for monitoring DC motors and pumps. The monitoring card has three PT100 RTD temperature sensor inputs and three inputs that can switch between 1V current transformers or 4-20mA sensors. In addition, it has one fixed 4-20mA input, two digital on/off inputs, and one current sink output. There is also one Ethernet port to connection to other devices.
The Nexus Panel natively supports a variety of wireless protocols, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (5.2) and Thread. Additional wired and wireless technologies can be supported through the addition of an auxiliary M.2 card, such as Wi-Fi HaLow, a long-range 900MHz link and CAN bus.
A CAT-1 cellular modem connects the Nexus Panel to cloud servers with a data rate that is high enough to support most Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This also integrates GPS into the gateway to provide positioning services.
Nexcomm Systems offers cloud services to maintain the data, generate reports and visualizations and send alerts and alarms through text, email and voice. However, these services are optional and the Nexcomm system can forward the data to a customer's existing cloud services.
Housed in a DIN rail-mount enclosure, the Nexus Panel industrial panel cellular gateway acts as a wired and wireless communications hub to the cloud for industrial control panels. This makes the Nexus Panel ideal for integrating into new and existing systems.
