BIG. BOLD. OLD
Sometimes What is Old is Just Right
Straight from “Anna’s Kitchen” comes something new from old, something bold and pure, and something big from nature: Shrubs. Shrubs are a historical drink from the colonial times when fruit was stored in barrels of vinegar for preservation, prior to refrigeration. The result was a dynamic fruit flavored liquid concentrate that is both refreshing and vibrant. The colonials were known to enjoy shrubs with spirits, and claimed that it would improve vitality, increase energy and improve tolerance to hot weather.
The popularity of Shrubs faded with the arrival of refrigeration. However, in recent years the drink has been rediscovered. Hearing about this peaked maker Anna Scott’s interest; and she began experimenting combining various fruit flavors with more savory herbs and spices.
Anna updated the original recipe by combining organic fruit and organic raw apple cider vinegar with the mother. This combines the best of what nature offers and modernizes the original recipe leaving you with a complex, bright, pure drink concentrate that appeals to all ages.
Anna will be presenting her 5-flavor lineup at the Nightclub & Bar Show on March 25-27 (Convention Center in Las Vagas).
Anna’s Kitchen Shrubs can be enjoyed by anyone. Made with real fruit and raw apple cider vinegar, shrubs are a healthy, organic alternative to sugary sodas. Craft bartenders and chefs will love the efficiency of using Anna’s masterfully mixed shrubs to enrich recipes, simplify ingredients and inspire creativity.
Sometimes, history does repeat itself. In this case it comes as a new, but old, cocktail mixer. Pour a serving of Shrub in a cold glass and top with seltzer or your favorite spirit and see for yourself why this drink is making a comeback after more than 5 centuries.
