It's not often that you hear about young Canadians going head to head with the big guys in the Tequila space. But there's a new ultra- premium tequila in town that's certainly making waves – Siempre Tequila Plata. With their experience working with giants like Coca-cola and Corona, this Canadian team certainly knows what it takes to get noticed, and that they have. Partnering with influential talents such as DJ and Producer, Statik Selektah and VP of A&R for Interscope, Brock Korsan, better known by his internet alias Brocky Marciano, this new and growing brand is certainly turning heads all around the globe.
Siempre itself is produced in Tequila, Mexico. Yes, it's actually the name of a town and the municipality where its located, Jalisco, is one of the only Mexican states where tequila can be made. To make Siempre, Blue Weber agave plants are hand picked from both the Highlands and Lowlands of the region to create a pleasant blend of flavours. Unlike most tequilas, Siempre choose to use both regions of the tequila making state to really capture the nuances of the two terriors. This gives Siempre a unique profile, sweet and savoury - the best of both worlds. The agave is then slowly baked in traditional brick ovens, distilled twice before then volcanic spring water is added to the mix.
Once it’s ready to be enjoyed, we urge you to put down the shot glass, salt and lime slices. Siempre, like any well-made tequila, is best sipped slow and neat to enjoy its flavours. It’s soft and sweet with hints of spice and tropical fruit. But if you’re faint of heart, go ahead and pour Siempre over ice or mix it into a favourite cocktail. In between pouring and mixing, the bottle design which was handrawn by one of the founders makes for a pretty addition to your bar.
