Breathless Sparkling Wines

Breathless Wines is a family affair, built by the love of three sisters, Sharon, Rebecca, and Cynthia, and the passion for life that their mother passed down to them. The sisters are dedicated to creating refreshing sparkling wines that pair well with life’s special moments. Guided by the expert winemaking hand of Penny Gadd-Coster, Breathless Wines are hand-crafted in the traditional méthode champenoise from select Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from Sonoma County. Penny is a renowned and highly lauded winemaker with over 35 years of sparkling winemaking experience and is a recipient of the “Winemaker of the Year” award from North Bay Biz Magazine.

Nominated for Best New Winery from San Francisco Magazine in 2017, the Breathless wines have earned numerous gold medals and 90+ scores. Breathless has also been honored with multiple “Best of Show” Awards, most recently, the 2019 Sunset International Wine Competition, 2019 Grand Harvest Awards and the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

  Breathless, Sonoma County (California) Blanc De Noirs NV ($32):   Pinot Meunier makes itself known in this tasty blend, with 13% joining 45% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay.  It adds floral and cherry notes to the expected citrus and apple, making for a very complex Blanc De Noir worthy of its price and your cellar.   Fine mousse, bright flavors, and good depth.  Very impressive!  A Platinum Award winner at the 2020 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.   95 Points.

  Cloverdale, CA, January 10, 2020 – There were over sixty-five judges, representing various North American wine regions, evaluating nearly 6,700 wines from over 1,000 wineries for the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
