  • Far infrared thermal sensor array MLX90640
This 32x24 pixel device is suited to safety and convenience applications that include fire prevention systems, smart buildings, intelligent lighting, IP/surveillance cameras, HVAC equipment and vehicle seat occupancy detection....

  • Addresses growing demands seen across numerous applications for thermal analysis. This infrared (IR) sensor offers a cost-effective alternative to more expensive high-end thermal cameras.

This 32x24 pixel device is suited to safety and convenience applications that include fire prevention systems, smart buildings, intelligent lighting, IP/surveillance cameras, HVAC equipment and vehicle seat occupancy detection.

It has a -40°C to 85°C operational temperature range and can measure object temperatures between -40°C and 300°C. Maintaining high levels of precision across its full measurement scale, this infrared sensor delivers a typical target object temperature accuracy of ±1°C.
It also exhibits superior noise performance.

Unlike microbolometer alternatives, the sensor does not need frequent re-calibration, thus ensuring continuous monitoring and lowering system cost. The Melexis MLX90640 is supplied in a compact, 4-pin TO39 package incorporating the requisite optics. An I²C-compatible digital interface simplifies integration.

    • -40 to 85°C operational temperature range, allows deployment in difficult industrial environments
    • Can measure object temperature between -40 to 300°C
    • A typical target object temperature accuracy of 1°, precision across its full measurement scale
    • NETD of just 0.1K RMS at a 1Hz refresh rate
    • No re-calibration needed to specific temperature requirements ensuring greater convenience and lowering operational expense
    • Two different field of view (FoV) options: standard 55°x35° and 110°x75° wide angle
    • 4-pin TO39 package incorporating the requisite optics
    • I²C compatible digital interface, simplifying integration
  • Gen 3 single-chip VGA time-of-flight MLX75027
The MLX75027 automotive VGA time-of-flight (ToF) sensor provides a complete time-of-flight sensing solution with full VGA depth map resolution up to 135 distance frames per second....

  • The MLX75027 automotive time-of-flight sensor supports up to VGA resolution. The sensor, alongside the 90 nm BSI VGA pixel array, provides the control signals for the illumination unit and has a MIPI CSI-2 high speed serial interface to stream data to the host processor.

Thanks to a simple supply system, with only three positive voltage domains, the sensor simplifies the design of the supply unit and together with a low power dissipation allows a very compact 3D camera.

The MLX75027 supports up to 100 MHz illumination modulation frequency, which makes it well suited for VCSELs illumination and has a built-in temperature sensor.

  • 0-50 A isolated 5 V integrated Hall current sensor
The MLX91220 is a 0-50 A isolated integrated Hall-effect current sensor with dual OCD, operating on a 5 V supply....

  • The MLX91220 is a 0-50 A isolated integrated Hall-effect current-sensor with dual OCD, operating on a 5V supply. It is the easiest all-in-one integrated current sensor with the right balance of small footprint, low impedance, high bandwidth, isolation and more general features.

    MLX91220 MLX91221 Block Diagram

The MLX91220 is an integrated current Sensor that senses the current flowing through the leadframe of the package and therefore minimizes the thermal losses encountered with more standard solutions.

Inside the package, the magnetic flux density generated by the current flow is sensed differentially by two sets of Hall plates. As a result the influence of external disturbing fields originating from the dense power electronics surrounding the IC is minimized. The residual signal is amplified to provide a high-speed linear analog output voltage. The close proximity of the Hall plates to the current conductor ensures a high signal-to-noise ratio and an accurate signal over temperature. With this miniaturization, high voltage isolation ratings are still maintained between the primary and their opposing secondary side leads of the package.

The current sensors can operate in two measurement modes:

    • ratiometric mode, addressing the applications mandating output voltage scaling to the supply
    • fixed mode (differential), addressing the use of a reference voltage

Among all the new features integrated, the (dual) overcurrent detection on-chip with a separated output reduced the BoM by reducing the need for external comparators for overcurrent protection.

Factory trimmed (mV/A), the MLX91220 is a plug & play solution. No EoL (End of Line) is required.

  • Triaxis® magnetometer MLX90397
The MLX90397 is a 3D magnetometer designed for position sensor applications with a +/-50 mT range with an adaptive range on BZ of +/-200 mT. It makes it ideal for battery-powered applications....

  • The MLX90397 is a monolithic sensor IC sensitive to the flux density applied orthogonally and parallel to the IC surface. The device makes magnetic measurement along the 3 axis (X, Y being in a plane parallel to the surface of the die, Z being perpendicular to the surface). The user can actually choose the fields to measure among BX, BY, BZ, temperature or a combination. Those measurements and the IC temperature are converted into 16-bit words which are transferred upon request over I2C communication channel. The device transmits compensated raw measurement data.

Especially designed for low micropower the MLX90397 is ideal for battery-powered applications:

    • power down current of typ. 7nA
    • operating on 1.7 ~ 3.6 V supply
    • supporting position sensor applications with a +/-50mT range with an adaptive range on BZ of +/-200 mT

A reset pin allows the MLX90397 to handle extra low idle current consumption which is beneficial for applications where the update rate is low.

The MLX90397 also simplifies your designs!

The solution reduces bill-of-materials costs and saves PCB space. Measuring just 2 x 2.5 x 0.4 mm, the sensor features a UTDFN-8 ultra-thin flat no-lead 8-pin package to help designers tackle space-constrained applications. Simpler PCB can be achieved. Additionally, the MLX90397 comes pre-programmed, making it a plug & play solution to integrate.
