  • INDEPENDENCE, KY, September 2018—celebrating almost 30 years in business, KRC Machine Tool Solutions, a premiere leader in the development of machine tool and manufacturing solutions, is proud to introduce the latest state of the art composite machining center.

The new KRC FUSION VI high performance machine tool is a modular large format gantry system capable of being parametrically configured for a vast range of sizes and configured for specific or multiple processes. The high stiffness structure has been developed over multiple years of Dynamic Finite Element Analysis and verified through virtual and actual machine modal analysis.

The primary vertical mast configured for milling is capable of five axis, high speed, high volume material removal and precision drilling, routing and countersinking. The secondary mast executes precision six-axis abrasive waterjet trimming, powered by Flow ultra-high waterjet intensifiers, cutting heads and expertise. Multiple quick change kinematic cutting heads are available to meet even the most complex geometries.

With our integrated metrology package, the FUSION VI is also capable of performing complex part alignments, inspection, spring back compensation and tool path correction. This configuration is tailored for the complete processing of composite aerostructures, saving manufacturers significant amounts of time and money while delivering the highest part quality and peace of mind.

According to the company president Scott Ashworth, “Our world class engineers and state of the art engineering methods have allowed us to design and produce a product that delivers to the market the latest in composite cutting technology, setting us apart from our competition.  The KRC FUSION VI is a modern evolution of a fantastic design that will accelerate the growth and expansion of KRC Machine Tool Solutions worldwide.  Throughout our years in business, we have always strived to “be the best” and give our customers the best possible solutions available, and this exceeds all expectations as we truly believe this is the best machine on the market.”

All of the FUSION VI machines can be provided with either FANUC or Siemens controls, flexible or dedicated tooling and fixtures, multiple machine bed options, and automation.  Each system is tailored as a turn-key solution and configured to match the specific and unique process requirements of each customer.

    Shipments will begin Q4 2018

 Products

  • Fusion VI
The KRC FUSION VI Series of high-performance machine tools offers modular gantry systems capable of being parametrically configured for a vast range of sizes and for multiple machining processes used across many industries....

  • Designed to manufacture finished components with precision and speed, KRC’s large format machining center is a gantry style machine with a moveable bridge and dual vertical masts on parallel rails suspended above the work area or table. The machining heads move smoothly in either five (milling) or six (abrasive waterjet) axes along the defined tool path to produce a completed part. The FUSION VI is a multi-process machining solution that can handle the processes of trimming, drilling, routing, surface milling, marking and inspection all in one set up – all on one machine. The FUSION VI series was developed to machine large format parts in a variety of materials for a wide range of industries including aerospace, transportation and energy.

The FUSION VI is the latest evolution of this product line since its initial release in 1991. Over 200,000 hours of research and development have been applied to the machine structures, drives, software, and processes. The high stiffness structure is a result of many iterations of Dynamic Finite Element Analysis, verified through virtual and actual machine modal analysis. With almost (3) decades of continuous improvements, the FUSION VI platform offers the highest cut part quality, accuracy and productivity of any large format machine tool.

All of the models in the FUSION VI series can be customized with either Fanuc or Siemens controls, flexible or dedicated tooling and fixtures, multiple machine bed options, and automation. Each system is tailored as a turn-key solution and configured to match the specific and unique process requirements of each customer.

  • Velocity VTC Series
The Velocity VTC Series offers the latest in vertical turning precision and performance with a highly rigid and accurate machine built to outperform the competition....

  • The Velocity VTC Series offers a powerful vertical turning line with a structurally rigid design and high levels of accuracy, proven to outperform the competition.  The Velocity Series offers a complete line of vertical turning centers available with swing diameters from 1200mm to 2000mm.  These machines feature a high torque special octagon-shaped ram structure providing superior damping characteristics, excellent thermal expansion control, and stronger rigidity than a traditional square ram. This design endures the forces of inner and outer diameter cutting, assuring high accuracy on both sides. The one-piece column is built with a strong cast iron wide span ribbed box structure providing stability and rigidity.  The column design decreases vibration, thermal expansion, and deformation caused by cutting stress. The robust work table is equipped with a 4 jaw manual chuck. The crossrail features a slanted box way design with a 5 step up and down positioning, locked by 4 strong independent hydraulic cylinders in conjunction with large taper lock pins.  Each machine comes equipped with a standard 12 tool ATC.  All models can be customized with either Fanuc or Siemens controls, optional c-axis, and several other optional accessories allowing customers to build a machine to fit their exact specifications.
