In 2018, Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG achieved a turnover of EUR 2.525 billion, the highest in the company's history. The family-owned company has over 13,000 employees in 70 countries and more than 120 companies. More than 50,000 customer service points throughout the world provide comprehensive customer support worldwide. Innovation has played a key role in the company's growth and since its foundation in 1935 has become an important part of the corporate culture. About 90% of all products are five years old or less. More than 1,000 employees at the cleaning appliance manufacturer work in research and development. Kärcher currently holds over 630 active patents.

The engineer and passionate inventor Alfred Kärcher, who founded the company in 1935, searched with untiring creativity and inventive spirit for solutions to technical problems. However, he never lost sight of his responsibility for the concerns of his employees.

Until today, Kärcher has been socially committed over and above its daily activities. For more than eight years SOS Children's Villages throughout the world have been provided with cleaning machines and green filter systems in developing and emerging countries built in cooperation with the Global Nature Fund.

As part of its cultural sponsorship programme, Kärcher has cleaned and restored over 140 monuments worldwide since 1980. These include the colonnades at St. Peter's Square in Rome, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the more than 3,300-year-old Colossi of Memnon in Luxor, Upper Egypt and the Presidents' Heads at Mount Rushmore. Cleaning is always carried out in close cooperation with monument conservators, restorers and art historians.

  • IB 7/40 Adv
    Dry ice blaster...

  • Our Ice Blaster IB 7/40 Advanced is characterised by a well-thought-out concept, many clever details, rugged durability and extremely high-grade manufacturing. The latest generation dry ice blaster has been designed to handle hard continuous use and is very well equipped. For example, it comes as standard with an integrated ground strap coil, a residual ice removal system that prevents the device from freezing once work is complete, as well as an oil and water separator for reliable operations. The airflow has been optimised in such a way that excellent cleaning results are a matter of course, even when working with low pressures and low air consumption (max. 3.5 m³/min), while operating noise is also reduced to a minimum. The jet gun with remote control for adjusting the jet parameters, stepless control of the jet pressure and the ice delivery volume via a button (can be deactivated ifdesired) and a logically structured display for reading off all operating parameters ensure a high degree of operator convenience. In addition to this, statistical values such as operating time, average ice consumption per hour or total ice consumption can be called up.

Unlike sand, water or steam jets neither water nor abrasive remain on or in the object being cleaned; the cleaning agent literally dissolves into the air. The dirt merely needs to be blown off or taken up by e.g. a vacuum cleaner. Drying times no longer apply, and the cleaned machine can be used immediately. Since carbon dioxide – frozen or gaseous – conducts electricity very poorly, electrical installations can be blasted without causing any problems. Since neither water nor other foreign substances are used in dry ice cleaning, there are no corrossion problems that often require cumbersome subsequent cleaning as well as the expensive disposal of the cleaning agent and wastewater contaminated with the dirt. Since no foreign substances are used, one can often forgo dismantling parts from machines, which saves time and prevents damage to tools and sensitive parts that might otherwise come about by handling them. Hot tools can be blasted without having to cool them down in advance, which in many cases leads to improved results because the dirt does not adhere to the surface as much. The short-term cooling of the blasted surfaces in our experience leads to absolutely no damage.
