  • MP Systems’ Purge Coolant Filtration System To Make Canada Debut at CMTS 2019

The new Purge Coolant Filtration System will make its Canada debut at the CMTS show in Ontario in October.

The latest innovation from MP Systems is a full flow filtration system that keeps a CNC machine tool's coolant tank filled to maximum capacity with clean, filtered coolant. It pulls coolant from the dirty side of the coolant tank, filters it, and returns it to the clean side of the tank faster than the flood and high pressure coolant pumps draw from it. This prevents coolant starvation of the machine’s flood and high pressure coolant pumps and keeps small chips and fines from clogging the machine tool’s nozzles, lines and screens. By keeping the coolant clean, part quality is improved and cutting tool life is extended.

As a bonus, the machine’s coolant tank doesn’t need to be cleaned nearly as often.

“Cleaning a coolant tank is a nasty job that nobody wants to do,” MP Systems Engineer Brian Jalbert says. “It’s time consuming and you have to shut the machine down to do it. If the machine is inside a caged cell, it’s a task that can take days. If you can eliminate this job even once, the Purge will pay for itself.”

MP Systems will also display its VR8 Variable Volume High Pressure Coolant System. The 1000 psi unit automatically adjusts the speed of its pump motor to deliver the appropriate volume of coolant required for each specific cutting application. For example, it delivers less coolant volume for smaller tools and more volume for larger tools. This saves energy, reduces heat, and provides better thermal stability.

MP Systems’ Universal Washdown System, which clears chips from machine tool walls, way covers, work holders, and parts will be at the show, too. The low maintenance systems comes with its own pump, is adaptable to most machines, and is very easy to use. Users can quickly adjust the coolant spray force from a light, broad mist to a narrow, powerful stream.
