  • Northfield Precision Instrument’s new line of custom precision Internal Grip Collet Chucks repeat to .0001” T.I.R. and less. Diameters as small as 6mm and up to 115mm can be gripped. These chucks are air actuated with an internal self-contained actuator and use the same air tubes as our precision Air Chucks and Diaphragm Chucks. As the chucks are actuated, the collet is drawn over a cone giving it maximum rigidity and pull back action to help insure the part is seated against the hard stop. Coolant or air blast through its center is an option to pump coolant from the spindle side of the work piece, or use air detect part seat sensing, chip blow off, etc. These Internal Grip Chucks are unaffected by spindle speed so running at speeds up to 10,000 rpm is no issue.
