 Press Releases

  • Turck has launched a new weld water detection system that helps protect the critical cooling processes during robotic spot welding applications. Preventing welding systems from overheating ensures less damage to machines and reduces downtime and maintenance.

This automated solution is ideal for robotic spot welding systems in machine tools, automotive and Tier 1 welding applications. Communication via IO-Link offers improved monitoring and control due to its ability to track and monitor operations remotely.

The system features rugged components designed for the harsh environments found in welding applications.  An auto water shut-off with retract unit prevents excessive water spillage during weld tip change. In addition, manual flow adjustment ensures easy setup and commissioning.

  • Turck introduced the TS+ temperature sensor, a line of programmable temperature sensors that are used to measure industrial process temperature of a media. The TS+ is part of a large family of fluid sensors, including pressure, flow, temperature and level products. A rotating display for simple orientation adjustment is standard on all models, allowing the user to orient the display for optimum viewing after installation. The TS+ stainless steel housing is rated to IP6K9K, meaning it is sealed against dust and high-pressure jet washing for a longer service life.  The sensors are available in direct and remote mount variations with a large portfolio of temperature probes, thermowells and mounting accessories.

The TS+ can be used in a wide range of manufacturing applications to help monitor the health of a machine, reducing costly downtime. For example, temperature monitoring of hydraulic oil in stationary hydraulic power units is vital. High temperature in hydraulic systems can lead to system outages. The IO-Link, analog, and switching outputs of the TS+ are well suited to provide early warning and real-time measurement of these critical fluids.

    •    Multiple process connections available; reduces adapter use
    •    Automatic detection of output signals; speeds installation and reduces errors
    •    Automatic detection of temperature probe installed; reduces errors and installation time
    •    Rotatable IP6K9K-rated stainless steel housing; ensures reliability
    •    Multi-color display; provides easier set up and commissioning

  • Turck has launched a new line of inductive sensors specifically created to detect carbon fiber materials and pressed carbon parts. These sensors are  patent-pending and are ideal for use in the automotive industry. Carbon fibers are being used in production of vehicle’s interiors and body shells, for example. They are less susceptible to contamination than optical or capacitive sensors while also being significantly more economical than ultrasonic sensors.

With high reliability thanks to its Turck Uprox-based technology and wide temperature range of 0-100° C, these IP68-rated sensors are ideal for use in automotive manufacturing as well as alternative energy and sporting goods manufacturing.  Available in three designs: M18 threaded-barrel sensor in stainless steel housing and CK40 and QR20 rectangular sensors in plastic housing.
