 Press Releases

  • Applied Robotics’ Flexible Smart GripperTM (FSG) now allows for intelligent handling of delicate objects of varying shapes and sizes.

The all-new Flexible Smart GripperTM is a fully electrically actuated gripper with flexible, soft bodied fingers for handling objects of varying size, shape, and weight.

The FSG comes in two-finger (FSG-2) and four-finger (FSG-4) configurations, ideal for Food and Retail Order Fulfillment, and are well-suited for collaborative robotic applications.

With a simple user interface that can be accessed with any Wi-Fi-enabled device, the user can easily program open/close finger positions as well as force control thresholds for precise and dependable handling of delicate objects.

The FSG's patented, FDA-compliant silicone fingers, provide assured grasping of objects with the ability to rotate and conform in the actuating direction, while remaining rigid in the other degrees of freedom.

"The Flexible Smart Gripper solved all of the complex challenges found in handling delicate and randomly shaped objects commonly found in food processing and retail order fulfillment by combining the gentle handling of objects with the intelligence and feedback of an electricaly operated gripper."

  • UVP/UVH Self-Centering Vises
UVP is a pneumatically actuated 2-jaw self-centering vise UVH is a hydraulic 2-jaw self-centering vise Both have a compact design with a high clamping force and are available with a standard stroke, or long-stroke, or with one fixed jaw....

  • When your operation requires precision and absolute accuracy for your workpiece, Applied Robotics' self-centering vises guarantee reliable results time and time again. With a full range of pneumatic and hydraulic vises, complete with short or long stroke options, as well as machine table embedded versions, we can match the right solution to any of your specific workholding needs.

    UVP Advantages:

    • Precise wedge-hook mechanism allows machining accuracy.
    • High force drive for secure clamping.
    • Extended clamping range with long jaw guidance.
    • Optimum jaw guides (hardened, sturdy, low-backlash) allow high clamping forces and a long service life.
    • Low profile: Maximum use of the machine room and excellent rigidity of the system.
    • Lean outer contour for optimal accessibility of the machine spindle to the workpiece.
    • Cubic design: ideal for 6-sided machining.
    • Optimized lubrication system for consistently high clamping forces.
    • Base jaws with tongue and groove or fine serration as standard for high flexibility of top jaws.
    • All functional parts are hardened and ground to ensure a long service life.
