 Press Releases

  • Engineered Material Handling (EMH) recently introduced the new NOMAD® XW, expanding and extending its NOMAD Freestanding Crane line and capabilities. With NOMAD XW, overall widths up to 60 feet with overall heights up to 25 feet and capacities from 2 tons up to 20 tons are now possible. Modular NOMAD Cranes provide flexible solutions for manufacturers when needs change, or when a traditional overhead crane installation is either difficult or impractical.

Base plate design allows most NOMAD systems to be installed without footers. With easily bolted assembly, NOMAD Freestanding Crane Systems are easily dismantled, relocated and reassembled when the need arises.

NOMAD Cranes are available for one, two, three or four-cell manufacturing systems, with safety-enclosed-type runway electrification brackets welded on runway beams, and with the conductor bars installed in the field. Each system comes complete with mounting plates, bolts and bumpers and with top running end-truck travel speeds of 80 or 120 FPM (VFD). Wire rope hoists provide lifting speeds of 16/2.6 FPM with trolley speeds of 65 FPM (VFD). Bridge conductor cables are pre-wired to quick disconnect plugs.

NOMAD Crane Solutions come standard with radio control. Each system comes complete with a hand-held AAA operated radio controller. Rechargeable models are optional. A back-up pushbutton station can be provided as an option.

EMH, Engineered Material Handling, headquartered in Valley City, Ohio, designs, sells and manufactures a complete line of overhead material handling equipment solutions for loads from 25 lbs. to 300 tons, serving a variety of industries with Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Jib Cranes, Self-Standing Cranes, Workstation Cranes, and Crane Kits, plus custom and standard Wire Rope Hoists and End Trucks. EMH is ISO 9001:2008 certified.

  • Engineered Material Handling (EMH), recently introduced its new EG Series Hoist, providing next generation enhanced features and benefits to its E Series Hoist. With the new EG Series Hoist, trolley adjustment is easier than ever with integrated and robust staging that stays tightly together during adjustment. The EG Series Hoist is designed to have a more spacious enclosure to accommodate much larger control panels and variable frequency drives. It will have capacities of 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 metric tons, and 20, 33, 50 and 65-foot lifts. The 5 ton and 20-foot lift will be rolled out first. EG Series Hoists are currently available in monorail and double-girder models, providing a price and performance ratio that compares favorably with the best in the industry today.

The new EG Series Hoist makes it easier to adjust trolleys to a variety of flange widths and beam types. A longer adjustment tube maintains better hoist integrity and tighter staging during adjustment, and during opening and closing. A new and more reliable hexagonal drive shaft enhances adjustment and reduces the number of parts involved. An improved limit switch (upper/lower) provides better repeatability during raising and lowering and a weight-operated limit is provided as standard.

The new EG Series Hoist incorporates new and better safety features. A new smooth acting rope guide tracks on a bar independent of the hoist frame to eliminate possible damage.

The new EG Series Hoist also offers manufacturing advantages and efficiencies. Instead of having various lengths of dead end supports, there is now just one size that fits all three lift ranges, 20, 33 and 50-feet. The EG Series also offers a variety of specialized hoist options including variable frequency hoisting.

EMH, Engineered Material Handling, headquartered in Valley City, Ohio, designs, sells and manufactures a complete line of overhead material handling equipment for loads from 25 lbs. to 300 tons, serving various industries with Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Jib Cranes, Self-Standing Cranes, Workstation Cranes, and Crane Kits, plus custom and standard Wire Rope Hoists and End Trucks. EMH is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

  • New EMH AL System™ Workstation Cranes are lightweight, flexible and easily installed, providing a wide range of lightweight crane solutions for lower capacity requirements, from 35 to 2,200 lbs. Lightweight aluminum track profiles, exclusive EMH t-slot design, anodized enclosed rails, and anti-kick-up nylon wheels are all contribute benefits, providing maintenance-free workstation solutions. Visit Us: ProMat Booth# S3091.

AL-System Cranes safely and efficiently accommodate a wide variety of lifters and handling devices. With lightweight aluminum track profiles, AL System Cranes are also easily configured to suit almost any application need. Their anodized aluminum extrusions and enclosed rails maximize strength, provide longer durability and add to their aesthetics.

Articulated anti-kick up wheels offer additional advantages. AL System Cranes are articulating, meaning that they are free moving and do not require movement at right angles. This feature also provides smooth operation and a low starting force even when the load is at the end of the bridge. In addition, the AL-System Crane’s anti-kick up nylon wheels delivers smooth and safe movement of the trolley inside the enclosed rail.

One of the most important advantages over other lightweight aluminum rail systems is an exclusive EMH t-slot design for splicing two pieces of rail together. With the EMH t-slot design, installation with a wide variety of integrating equipment, such as lifters and end-effectors, chain hoists or smart lifters, is easier. The EMH t-slot splice design also eliminates bumps when a load is moved over track splices.

  • EMH AL System™ Lamp Post Workstation Cranes are flexible and versatile, providing more workstation placement solutions that offer convenient access for optimum efficiency. They are economical, easily installed and maintenance-free.

All AL System Workstation Cranes feature lightweight aluminum track profiles for loads up to 2,200 lbs., exclusive EMH T-Slot design, anodized enclosed rails, and anti-kick-up nylon wheels. AL System Lamp Post Cranes require only four upright columns per runway cell, with the crane runway clamped onto the top of the frame at the corners using standard AL clamps. The bridge and lifting devices are then hung from the bridge crane, which enables convenient and open access at either end. Maximum standard overall height is 15-feet.

With lightweight aluminum track profiles, AL System Cranes are easily configured to suit almost any application need and accommodate a wide variety of lifters and handling devices, safely and efficiently.
