    • PFM 17 Weld Shaver

    Metabo’s latest addition to its dedicated line of tools for the welding trades, the PFM 17 Weld Shaver, easily machines weld beads flush up to 1” width x 1/4” height. The tool has a 1,700 Watt, 13.0 Amp motor combined with a precision cutting head. The cutting head is supplied with 3 square TiN coated indexable tungsten carbide cutters. Dedicated indexable inserts for stainless steels and aluminum are available as accessories. The patented OneTouch controller allows for micrometer type depth setting in steps of .004" (4 one thousandths of an inch) making set-up easy, and the lock-in feature maintains a consistent cutting depth. The front loop handle is adjustable for perfect control and the rear ‘rat tail’ handle has an ergonomically designed non-locking switch for comfort and safety. As opposed to sparks and dust created when grinding, the PFM 17 Weld Shaver creates metal chips making for a cleaner and safer work environment. The removal rate is faster and more efficient than grinding and gouging, and burned spots are eliminated which leads to cost savings that quickly pay for the cost of the tool.
