Toolmen Corporation has been designing and manufacturing a wide variety of Laser Deposition Machines since 2003.  We produce both gantry style machines as well as machines that deploy a robot arm.  Machines can include additional processes such as machining.  One style of machine, the ID Machine can provide laser deposition to interiors as small as 2 inches.

The machine described above presented a lot of technical challenges.  Firstly, the ceiling height of the intended facility was below that which a standard gantry z axis would fit.  Our solution was to use a telescoping actuator assembly for the z and design a compact rotary table to receive the build plate.  The machine can utilize up to four laser deposition heads at once each running it's own deposition scheme but coordinated with the rotary table.

In reality there is no limit to the size and configuration of the machine we can build for laser direct deposition.
