Adaptive poke welder regulates welding performance of a hand-held electrode. Reduces operator variability by adjusting heat for operator force variations. This occurs every ms throughout every weld. Result is reduced weld variability from weld to weld and from different operators.
While this takes place, the adaptive control records every monitored variable during every ms of every weld, along with date and timestamp. This provides a complete data record and audit trail of every weld, and documents all actions taken by the control to maintain weld consistency through every step of the process.
Originally developed to weld heat shielding on the Space Shuttle engine, the technology was recently further advanced to perform a similar function for the Orion rocket engine.
Today, anyone with a WeldComputer® adaptive control can have the same technological capability in their manufacturing operation simply by loading the same WeldComputer program into their WeldComputer adaptive control.
