WolfRayet Galaxy Systems: Powder Coat Metal & MDF at booth #40059

WolfRayet catalytic IR ovens are designed for excellence.

Bringing technology and design to manufacturing, the WolfRayet Galaxy Series of Gas Catalytic IR ovens is changing the way powder coatings are applied.

Allowing powder coating professionals to future proof their operations, the WolfRayet Gas Catalytic IR ovens can be used on heat sensitive substrates AND metal – which is not the case for traditional curing systems.

Because MDF is sensitive to heat, it has previously been impossible to powder coat MDF in the same convection oven that is used for metal parts. The results are, at best, inconsistent with variable quality.

Now, the game has changed! WolfRayet's Galaxy Lyte System is a brand-new Gas Catalytic IR system that works with both metal and MDF.

A gentle pre-heat in the Galaxy Lyte oven prepares the MDF for coating, and then your own powder gun is used to apply the powder. The coated MDF is placed back in the oven for a final curing. When coating metal, on the other hand, the coated component is put straight into the Galaxy Lyte oven for complete curing.

Users can create, save, and recall the right profile for either MDF or metal thanks to the system's simple-to-use PLC controls. In less than two minutes, the oven is ready to use after changing the heat profile program.

WolfRayet offers the Galaxy Lyte system, the perfect entry level option for short run operations.

The WolfRayet Galaxy Series System is an incredible automated system for powder coating large quantities of heat sensitive substrates like MDF, HDF, OSB and certain natural wood species.

Every Galaxy Series system is completely customizable giving you the flexibility to run your operations as efficiently and effectively as possible within the available plant space.

    The process is simple.

The parts to be coated are hung onto flight-bars and begin their journey through the system. Around 1.5 minutes in a catalytic preheat oven release moisture to create a conductive part which is conditioned and ready to be powder coated.

Moving automatically from the preheat oven into the application area, the powder is applied using a fully automatic system, regulated from the central HMI control unit, and the correct powder thickness is applied to all face and edge surfaces.

Don’t require powder on the back of the part? Don’t worry, we have the technology to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Once the powder has been applied, the parts continue on into the cure oven.

The total cure time is only 6 minutes at 260F, and the WolfRayet technology features a multi-zoned oven to ensure the correct temperature on all the surfaces of the part.

Once the powder is cured, the parts exit the oven and the parts return to the cool down and onload/upload area. This area is flexible depending on your available space and the mix of parts you want to coat, and the cool down is completely separate from the main production track.

With big names already invested in WolfRayet Technology, it’s easy to see why these incredible systems, that truly bring design and technology to manufacturing, are the perfect powder coating system for heat sensitive substrates.

Both Galaxy Lyte and the Galaxy Series can be customized to meet your needs.
