  • Fulcrum launched a new feature in July 2023 – a Customer Portal – that connects Fulcrum users to their customers through a view-only dashboard. This helps Fulcrum users build and maintain strong relationships with their customers by providing the most up-to-date information on Sales orders or Invoices. 

     

    Users have the capabilities to set access and permissions on a per-customer basis. The live data captured across the shop floor in Fulcrum is then portrayed in a customer dashboard so they can answer their most frequently asked questions without any additional phone calls or emails. 

     

    An Administrator View allows Fulcrum users to view the Portal as if they were the customer, to ensure only the information they wanted selected is showing. Early use of this feature resulted in significant positive feedback from Fulcrum users and requests to add even more capabilities. In the future, we plan to expand the Customer Portal to capture other aspects of the business, creating a digital network of manufacturers.

    Fulcrum’s Autoschedule is one example of how our innovative software makes manufacturing shops run smoother. This feature was designed by top engineering talent and the latest technologies to solve complicated scheduling problems that many manufacturers face. It gathers real-time data from the shop floor, then uses algorithms and heuristics to calculate the optimal production schedule. 

     

    In order to create the most efficient schedule, Fulcrum’s algorithm balances priority levels, due dates, capacity constraints, material availability, and more. Taking all of these dependencies into consideration, the Autoschedule prioritizes jobs based on priority level followed by due date. For example, the schedule will first take all high priority jobs and schedule them based on date. Then, the schedule will schedule medium priority jobs. In short, job priority trumps all. 

     

    The ultimate goal of the Autoschedule is to get the most work out the door on time while minimizing work-in-progress. It automatically adjusts in real-time as new orders come in and priorities shift. Shop floor operators even see any changes made to the schedule instantly. This helps shops provide accurate delivery dates and keep customers happy.

This means that the most frequently asked questions can be addressed without extra phone calls or emails.

     

    Fulcrum users can control the types of access they offer to their customers, and grant permission to individual orders and invoices separately. The Administrator View allows Fulcrum users to see exactly what their customers can see, to ensure that only the information they have selected is visible. 

     

    Looking ahead, the Customer Portal creates a network of manufacturers. It may be expanded beyond view-only access, giving customers the ability to request quotes or share drawings.
