  Focus on next-generation corrosion protection, sustainably advantaged solutions

  PITTSBURGH, Sept. 25, 2024 – PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced that it will showcase industrial finishing innovations including the PPG PRIMERON™ powder primer series and PPG POWERCRON® 10X™ electrocoat at FABTECH 2024 metal fabrication trade show in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 15-17.  PPG, a leading innovator in powder, liquid, electrocoat and pretreatment technologies, introduced both products in 2024.

  The PPG Primeron powder primer range offers high corrosion resistance for substrates including steel, hot-dip-galvanized steel, metalized steel and aluminum. The series includes PPG Primeron Optimal zinc-rich epoxy powder primer with optimized zinc content. This patent-pending primer has a lower specific gravity than standard zinc-rich primers (2.0 vs. 3.6), making it less dense and easier to apply with a transfer efficiency of 85% and meets rigorous ISO C5 corrosivity specification standards.

  PPG Powercron 10X, the company’s 10th generation cationic epoxy electrocoat, offers an expanded bake window and reduced weight loss during curing.
