 Press Releases

  • Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, today announced the launch of the Sullair DS Series 45-75kW oil free rotary screw compressors. The new DS Series utilizes a Hitachi air end backed by more than 50 year of experience engineered into a package designed for maximum reliability and easy serviceability.

“The market for oil free compressed air is both growing and changing,” said Bob Lord, Senior Product Manager at Hitachi Global Air Power. “What we’ve heard from our customers again and again is the need for reliable compressed oil free air in a system that’s easy to maintain and service. With the new DS Series, we answered both needs - and much, much more. We think our customers will be thrilled.”

Building on the performance and functionality of existing DSP Series compressors, the new DS Series offers added features and options and a user-friendly design. At the heart of the DS Series is the two-stage Hitachi air end engineered for efficiency and long life. Service and maintenance of the compressor are made simple with large, removable doors for easy access to filters and typical maintenance components. The state-of-the-art 7-inch touch screen controller, new to the DS Series, provides ultimate access and intuitive operation for integrated compressor management and sequencing of up to 16 compressors.

On the performance side, the DS Series provides 222-483 cfm and 100-150 psi of compressed air power with Class 0 oil free air quality, suitable for all applications where air purity is critical. Powered by a TEFC premium efficiency motor and available super premium efficiency motor on Variable Speed Drive models. Featuring several patented components including PTFE-free rotor coating, gearcase oil mist remover, and high pre-cooler design to prevent thermal fatigue and premature aftercooler failure for added reliability. AirLinx® remote monitoring capabilities come standard, and high altitude and cold weather packages are available.

Sullair oil free compressors are ideal for all applications requiring clean, quality compressed air.

  • Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC (Hitachi Global Air Power), an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions, today announced the launch of the Sullair TS 190-260 Series two-stage rotary screw air compressors. Engineered for excellence, the Series offers best-in-class efficiency based on the most recent* efficiency data published in accordance with the Compressed Air and Gas Institute’s (CAGI) third-party verification program.

The heart of the Sullair TS Series is an all new two-stage air end with patent-pending inter-stage cooling and an over/under design allowing for a smaller footprint.

“The Sullair TS Series is changing the game in the industrial compressed air market,” said John Randall, President and CEO of Hitachi Global Air Power. “Our goal is to design machines that answer customer need – particularly the need for higher efficiency – and our engineers delivered. The redesigned two-stage air end sets a higher standard for efficiency and is another step forward in our new era of customer-centric, environment-forward innovation. It truly represents Hitachi ingenuity at its finest.”

The Sullair TS 190-260 Series receives high marks for efficiency, performing markedly better than all comparable two-stage rotary screw air compressors participating in CAGI third-party verification. Efficiency, along with reliability, are important considerations in compressed air systems. Compressed air is widely used in industrial manufacturing and is often referred to as the fourth utility; it can account for as much as 10 percent of a facility’s energy costs. Hitachi Global Air Power engineers meticulously designed the TS Series to both enhance efficiency, and to minimize greenhouse gas emissions in the compressors’ production.

“Achieving significant efficiency improvements in our compressed air products helps not only the environmental impact of our customers’ operations, but their bottom line as well,” said Tom Poczekay, Vice President Engineering at Hitachi Global Air Power. “The Sullair TS Series is such an exciting product because we totally re-thought the way a two-stage compressor moves and compresses air, not only dramatically increasing the efficiency but doing so while maintaining – and even building on – our foundation of bulletproof reliability and durability.”

The Sullair TS Series comes in either air- or water-cooled configurations with standard fixed speed, variable speed or with Sullair-exclusive electronic spiral valve technology which matches compressor supply with demand and can tolerate harsh or dirty environments. The intuitive 10-inch color touch screen controller with expanded capabilities comes standard on all TS Series models. With fewer parts, the TS Series package is designed for easy service and maintenance and is ideal for large industrial applications, including steel, auto manufacturing and more.

*Based on current (March 2024) efficiency data published in accordance with CAGI third-party verification program.
