BLM GROUP Highlights End-Use Applications with Original Gaming Machines

    • Experience four-person original arcade cabinet
    • Test driving skills on Mysim racing simulator built with BLM GROUP machines

Orlando, Fla, October 15, 2024 — BLM GROUP will feature gaming equipment built using its flat sheet and tube fabricating machines at FABTECH in booth S22061.

Visitors can experience a four-person original arcade cabinet made with a sheet laser for processing the controls, BLM front panel logo and various panels including hardware access holes. The company also used its press brakes for forming the flat portions of the console and base.

The LT7 tube laser was used to cut supports for the console and base structure, as well as performing various cut and fold features, which simplify assembly. Additionally, the LT7 automatically installs thread inserts into laser cut holes using press fitting.

Proprietary ArTube software was used for automatic generation of cut and fold feature to create the base structure of the cabinet without welds or fixtures.

The Mysim racing simulator was fabricated using several BLM GROUP tube lasers and benders, including the LT7. Mysim is a BLM GROUP customer that designs ready-to-race simulators for developing motorsport driver skills and improving their performance. Visitors to the booth can participate in a two-lap racing competition on the simulator.

BLM GROUP Demonstrates Power of ProBend Press Brake and Sheet Laser Pairing

Orlando, Fla. October 15, 2024 – BLM GROUP is demonstrating the speed, repeatable accuracy and precision of the ProBend Press Brake E-Series on 20-gauge steel, including bending of:

    • Cell phone holder with parts cut on the LS5 Sheet Laser
    • Complex box showcasing repeatability
    • Bracket for mounting proximity sensors

All of the abovementioned parts will be cut on the LS5 or LS7 sheet lasers live at the show and the cell phone holder will be cut on stainless steel. These demonstrations will highlight the repeatable accuracy, speed and multi-station bending capabilities, among other features of the BLM GROUP press brake product line.

About the ProBend:  The all-electric, direct-drive design of the ProBend press brake features a ball screw directly connected to the torque motor, eliminating gear boxes and belts for fewer moving components. The precision Y1/Y2 press brake with positioning and repeatability of ±0.0001" is energy efficient, provides quiet and maintenance-free operation, as well as extremely fast approach, bending and ram return speeds. It can be equipped with up to 6-Axis backgauge, allowing for bending of simple to complex sheet metal geometries or tapered bends. Available with a bending force range of 22 to 310 tons and a bed length range of 3 to 17 feet, this press brake product line offers reliability, high productivity and is a perfect complement to flat sheet lasers.

The ProBend comes with a state-of-the-art 21.5” touchscreen console, enabling graphical or direct mode programming directly on the machine or offline. An optional second touchscreen is also available for multitasking. The console includes integrated views for various OLP software applications. The software automatically generates the part program from the imported CAD model and calculates the optimal bend sequence, stop positions, and tooling set-up.  A complete bending simulation, with automatic validations and checks, allows the user to verify the entire bending cycle and begin producing parts, correctly, from the start.

When equipped with Lazersafe IRIS Plus technology, the ProBend Press Brake measures springback during forming and automatically applies corrections for optimal accuracy.

BLM GROUP Demonstrates Versatility of LT7 Tube Laser at FABTECH 2024

    • BLM GROUP exclusive Active Tools automatically optimize processes
    • Real-time demonstrations showcase the versatility of the machine
    • Optimize productivity with automatic changeovers and thread insertion

Orlando, Fla. October 15, 2024 — BLM GROUP is demonstrating an LT7 Tube Laser with a 5-kW laser and exclusive thread-insertion technology at FABTECH 2024 in booth S22061. This versatile and productive machine features a 3D-tilt cutting head and can perform high-precision angular cuts in round, square and rectangular tubes, as well as open profiles and special sections from 0.5” to 6”, up to 15.5 lbs/ft.

At the show, the LT7 will demonstrate its capabilities on:

    • 4” Square Aluminum (0.375” wall thickness)
    • 2" Square Stainless Steel (0.058" wall thickness)
    • 3" Angle Mild Steel (0.5" wall thickness)
    • 2" Round Mild Steel (0.083" wall thickness)
    • Aluminum Extrusions, highlighting high-pressure dry air, tilt cutting and more

Key to the machine demonstrations is the application of the BLM GROUP exclusive Active Tools including Active Scan that compensates for material inconsistencies, Active Weld for automatic weld seam placement and Active Tilt to increase cutting speed on smaller profiles – all of which help the machine automatically adapt process parameters to optimize results. Based on decades of laser cutting experience, BLM GROUP designed these tools to produce high-quality parts repeatably and independently of the operator’s experience level.

In addition, the LT7 Tube Laser is automatically ready for production changeover as the loader, spindle, steady rest and intermediate supports adapt to the new section to be cut, without interrupting the production cycle. BLM GROUP has enabled the system to be paired with automated loading and unloading, as well as an optional thread insertion unit. This proprietary technology automatically places and press fits the thread insert to ensure accurate positioning while delivering maximum thread engagement and optimizing rigidity, repeatability and speed.
