Fusion is demonstrating one of our automated rotary brazing machine at FABTECH 2024, Orlando, FL, October 15-17 2024.
Equipped with a Fanuc CRX-5 COBOT to load/unload the copper and brass parts, Keyence PLC and HMI to control the machine, SMC components to control burner location and intensity, Keyence light sensor to detect paste deposits, on-screen production and utility monitoring, as well as process and video recording to assist with troubleshooting. A specialized phos copper paste is applied as a single deposit to the joint using Fusion’s FE-71 Paste Gun. The machine detects that an adequate deposit of paste has been applied before the part enters the flame heating stations of the machine. To reduce consumables, gasflux is automatically added to the gas/air mixture only when processing parts. Following the paste application, flame heating with gas flux is used to braze the parts. The benefits of using gas flux include reduced oxidation of the parts when brazing temperatures reach over 1250 degrees. This results in a cleaner brazed part, and a more consistent, faster and precise braze.
The automated rotary brazing machine demonstrates capabilities which can be incorporated into a custom Fusion brazing or soldering machine. The FE-71 paste applicator is precisely controlled. to increase or decrease the amount of alloy used to braze the parts. Two programmable heat slides position the preheat and brazing burners at the optimum position, which creates a specific heat pattern for maximum penetration of alloy and a strong braze joint.
The machine is equipped with:
