  • Establishment of US Manufacturing Base in Ohio

    Highlights

    • AML3D signs lease on a modern, purpose-built manufacturing facility at Stow, Ohio in the centre of the US industrial heartland.

    • The 1,000mm2 facility is pre-configured to provide AML3D with a ready-to-use, US manufacturing, sales and corporate hub.

    • Based in an industrial district, with access to modern transport infrastructure, the new US Hub will support US customers nationwide.

    • The US hub is central to AML3D’s strategy to access significant and growing US demand, particularly from the US Defence sector.

AML3D Limited (ASX:AL3) ("AML3D" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the signing of a 64-month lease that establishes AML3D’s US headquarters and manufacturing facility (‘US Hub’). The US Hub is located within a manufacturing and industrial district at Stow, Ohio that has excellent national and international transport links to allow AML3D to effectively support it US customer base. The US Hub represents a new round of investment to support AML3D’s high growth US ‘Scale up’ strategy following the recent, successful $6.9 capital raising.

Since it was launched in 2023, AML3D’s US ‘Scale up’ strategy has delivered ~$12.2 million of US defence sub-contracts that are being supported from the company’s Adelaide based facilities. The demand for AML3D’s advanced manufacturing technology within the US is continuing to grow strongly, particularly within the Defence sector with an emphasis on supporting the US Navy’s submarine industrial base. The establishment of the US Hub is expected drive a significant increase in Defence contract wins and support an expansion into the US Marine, Oil & Gas and Aerospace sectors. AML3D is also planning to leverage the US Hub to bid for ITAR and other US only controlled information Defence contracts, that are restricted to US based manufacturers.

The US Hub is based in a modern, ready to use, manufacturing facility including fabrication space, loading dock facilities and office space, which will require minimal capex to become fully operational. The US Hub’s location at Stow, Ohio not only allows ease of access to transport infrastructure to service US customers but also to the supporting industries and materials required for AML3D’s advanced manufacturing processes. The US Hub is expected to be operational in Q1 FY25 and to be AML3D’s US corporate headquarters and base for the Company’s US direct sales, administration and technical teams, led by Pete Goumas, President & CEO of AML3D USA, Inc..

AML3D President & CEO of US Operations, Pete Goumas said:

Establishing our US manufacturing hub here, in Northeast Ohio, is very exciting. We can be more responsive to our existing US customers, better positioned to win new customers and contracts and be directly plugged into the transformation of US sovereign manufacturing capability to additive manufacturing.

I’ve already started building out our direct sales and technical support team members that will add firepower to our existing capabilities and support our expected growth in US Defence contract wins and opportunities to expand into additional defence, Marine, Aerospace and Oil & Gas sectors.

    AML3D CEO Sean Ebert commented:

Since the launch of our US "Scale-up” strategy in 2023 we have been working towards establishing a US Manufacturing hub. It is a key part of our growth strategy that creates the additional capacity to meet the surging demand for AML3D’s proprietary ARCEMY technology across the US Defence and also corporate sectors. We view the recent, and strongly supported, $6.9 million capital raise as a ringing endorsement of this growth strategy and our US manufacturing Hub is a demonstration of continuing delivery of that strategy.

Our Adelaide facilities have been critical in supporting our expansion into the US market, but as our US Hub comes online in the early part of FY25 it will help to free up capacity at our Adelaide facility to continue to pursue the Australian, Asian Pacific and European defence markets. We will in effect look to leverage our US playbook.

  • $1.1M ARCEMY® System Sale to US Navy Component Supplier

    Highlights

    • 2600 Edition’ ARCEMY® system sale supports the US Navy component supplier, Laser Welding Solutions’, alloy qualification program.
    • The purchase order, issued by Blue Forge Alliance, includes a one-year service and maintenance contract.
    • The ARCEMY® system can be used to supply metal 3D printed parts to the US Navy submarine industrial base.

AML3D Limited (ASX:AL3) ("AML3D" or "the Company") is pleased to announce a ~A$1.1 million1 sale of a 2600 Edition ARCEMY® system (“ARCEMY® system”) for use by US Navy component supplier, Laser Welding Solutions (“LWS”). LWS has been operating this ARCEMY® system under a lease agreement since September 2023 for a Nickel Aluminium Bronze (“NAB”) alloy qualification program for the US Navy. The 2600 Edition ARCEMY® system is AML3D’s smallest industrial scale metal 3D printing system, capable of producing NAB components for US Navy applications.

The purchase order for the ARCEMY® system has been received from BlueForge Alliance (“BlueForge”), which is activating its option to buy the ARCEMY® System that it currently leases for operation by LWS. BlueForge is a US Department of Defence intermediary supporting the acceleration of advanced manufacturing technologies across the US defence industrial base. The purchase of the ARCEMY® System also includes an initial one-year service and maintenance contract. Establishing annual recurring service and maintenance contracts is a key strategic objective within the AML3D US ‘Scale-up’ strategy to drive revenue growth.

The purchase of this initial ARCEMY® system follows the recent announcement that LWS is directly leasing, with the option to buy, two additional 2600 Edition ARCEMY® systems to support the development of metal 3D printed components for the US Navy Submarine industrial base. The conversion of the first ARCEMY® system lease agreement with LWS to a sale represents the continuing progress AML3D is making in embedding the Company’s advanced manufacturing technology within the US Navy supplier network. The US is the largest Additive Manufacturing market in the world; AML3D’s most important growth market and, the company remains focused and confident, it will provide a continuing and growing source of additional contracts in support of the US Defence sector.

    AML3D CEO Sean Ebert said:

This first conversion of a lease agreement with LWS into an outright purchase of an ARCEMY® system, including an annual service and maintenance component is exciting. It is not only a great example of progress against our strategic objective of embedding our proprietary WAM® technology across the US Navy supply chain, but it also creates the opportunity to establish recurring service and maintenance revenues going forward.

The continuing momentum within our US scale up strategy underpins the investment we are making in our US manufacturing hub and headquarters at Ohio, We are looking to maximize the opportunities we have across the US Defence sector, especially the Navy’s submarine industrial base, but also across US based, global Tier 1 Oil & Gas, Marine and Aerospace companies. In parallel, we are exploring ways to leverage our US ‘Scale-up’ playbook to access additional, significant Defence markets such as the UK and Australia, which have the benefit of being AUKUS partners.

The successful commissioning of this ARCEMY® X at Cogitic demonstrates the ongoing success of AML3D’s US scale up strategy, which includes embedding ARCEMY® systems within the suppliers to the US Navy.

AML3D Managing Director Sean Ebert said:

The successful commissioning of this Cogitic ARCEMY® X system advances a key objective of AML3D’s US scale up strategy, embedding our WAM technology in the supply chains for the US defence industry and in particular US Navy’s submarine industrial base. AML3D recently established a US Headquarters and manufacturing hub, in Ohio, to maximise opportunities for ARCEMY system and component manufacturing and testing sales to the US defence sector.
