 Press Releases

  • Novi, Mich., Sept 15, 2026 – BLM GROUP USA will demonstrate a broad range of machine technologies, automation and software for tube and sheet metal processing at FABTECH 2026, October 21-23 in Las Vegas. Visitors to Booth C1208 will see live demonstrations spanning tube bending, tube laser cutting, sheet laser cutting, press brake bending and 5-axis laser processing.

The lineup reflects the breadth of the BLM GROUP product portfolio, with technologies that can operate as standalone systems or integrate with automation, material handling and software as production requirements evolve. Systems on display range from all-electric tube benders to laser systems for processing flat sheet, tube and complex three-dimensional components.

All-Electric Tube Bending for Different Production Requirements

BLM GROUP will demonstrate two all-electric tube bending systems, the E-TURN 40 and ELECT 102, highlighting different approaches to producing complex tubular components.

The E-TURN 40 combines right- and left-hand bending in the same cycle, allowing manufacturers to produce complex geometries that can be difficult to achieve with conventional bending processes. Built on all-electric technology, setup and bending parameters are stored with the part program to support fast production changes and consistent repeatability. The E-TURN 40 accommodates tube diameters up to 1.5 in. (40 mm).

For larger tube applications, the ELECT 102 processes tube up to 4 in. (102 mm) in diameter. The all-electric system can be configured for right- or left-hand bending and is designed for applications requiring the precision and control of electric bending technology on larger, more robust tubular components.

Both systems use BLM GROUP VGPNext 3D programming software, which manages bending parameters and machine setup from part development through production, helping simplify programming and support repeatability across production runs.

    Sheet Metal Cutting and Bending

For manufacturers working with flat sheet, BLM GROUP will demonstrate the LS7 Sheet Laser alongside the ProBend E-series Press Brake, giving FABTECH visitors an opportunity to see technologies supporting both cutting and bending operations.

The LS7 combines up to 20 kW of laser power with acceleration up to 2g and a fully electric pallet changer that completes a pallet change in nine seconds. Active Tools technologies automatically manage cutting parameters across different materials and thicknesses, while available loading, unloading and storage automation allow the LS7 to be integrated into automated sheet processing workflows. Recent updates improve machine accessibility with a larger front door, additional side access and a new ergonomic, adjustable operator control panel.

The ProBend all-electric press brake uses a patented direct-drive torque motor to provide precise control throughout the bending process. Available with a 6-axis backgauge for complex part geometries and tapered bends, the ProBend also offers CNC-controlled sheet followers that synchronize with the press brake to support workpieces up to 330 lb. (150 kg). For automated bending, the ProBend can be integrated with the HBS II Robotic Bending Cell, which automates sheet loading, bending and palletizing. Offline programming coordinates the press brake and robot within a single production cell.

Tube Laser Cutting in a Compact Platform

The LT6 Tube Laser brings full 3D laser cutting capabilities to a compact tube processing system. The machine processes tube from 0.5 to 6 in. (12 to 152 mm) in diameter and material weighing up to 12 lb./ft. (18 kg/m).

A fully automatic bundle loader supports high-volume production, while extended loading chains provide flexibility for special and heavier profiles. Three programmable unloading positions and automatic scrap separation manage part unloading and scrap handling after cutting. BLM GROUP Active Tools automatically adapt cutting parameters, compensate for tube deformation and detect weld seam position during processing. An optional automated rivet insertion unit installs M4 to M12 threaded inserts as part of the tube processing cycle. The LT6 is programmed using ArTube CAD/CAM software, which allows operators to import, create or modify 3D tubular parts and assemblies and generate the corresponding machine programs.

5-Axis Laser Processing for Complex 3D Parts

Completing the laser technology lineup will be the LT-FREE 5-axis laser cutting system for processing complex three-dimensional components.

The LT-FREE combines 5-axis laser cutting with automated robotic part handling to cut formed, hydroformed, stamped, pre-welded and other three-dimensional components. The system provides full access around the workpiece, allowing manufacturers to trim profiles, cut holes and create complex contours on parts with varying geometries and thicknesses. ArGo programming software manages the cutting path and robot movement within a single programming environment.

With multiple configurations available, the LT-FREE can support applications ranging from prototypes and frequently changing production requirements to higher-volume manufacturing.

Together, the technologies being demonstrated at FABTECH illustrate how BLM GROUP supports manufacturers as production requirements evolve. Visitors can evaluate individual machines while exploring how automation, material handling and software can connect cutting and bending technologies within a broader production workflow.

  • Novi, Mich., Sept. 1, 2026 – BLM GROUP USA, a leader in tube and sheet metal processing solutions, introduces Plug & Bend, an innovative quick-change tooling solution for select ELECT and E-TURN all-electric tube benders. Designed to simplify tooling changes and improve production efficiency, Plug & Bend enables manufacturers to transition quickly between different production jobs while maintaining consistent bending quality.

As manufacturers face shorter production runs, greater part variety, and ongoing labor challenges, reducing setup time has become just as important as reducing cycle time. Plug & Bend addresses these demands by allowing tooling to be changed quickly and accurately without the trial-and-error adjustments traditionally associated with tube bending.

As experienced tube-bending operators become increasingly difficult to find, Plug & Bend helps manufacturers maintain productivity by enabling less-skilled operators to perform tooling setups accurately and repeatably. By reducing reliance on specialized expertise, the system better prepares companies for today’s labor realities while ensuring consistent bending quality across shifts and personnel.

The system features an integrated quick-change interface that automatically positions bending tools in the correct location, eliminating manual alignment and reducing the potential for operator error. Once installed, tooling is immediately ready for production, allowing manufacturers to move from one job to the next with minimal interruption.

Unlike conventional tooling changes that often require manual adjustments before production can begin, Plug & Bend positions the tooling consistently each time it is installed, creating a more streamlined and predictable setup process.

“Manufacturers today need to respond quickly to changing production requirements without sacrificing quality or productivity,” said Matthew Irwin, product manager, tube and wire forming products at BLM GROUP USA. “Plug & Bend simplifies one of the most time-consuming aspects of tube bending by making tooling changes faster and more reliable.”

Plug & Bend is well suited for repetitive production environments where manufacturers regularly change between part families. By simplifying the tooling change process and reducing the need for manual adjustment, the system helps keep production moving while delivering consistent results from one setup to the next.

  • Novi, Mich., Aug 18, 2026 – BLM GROUP USA, a leader in tube and sheet metal processing solutions, introduced VGP_AI, an artificial intelligence service that helps manufacturers establish tube bending parameters before production begins. Integrated into the company's VGPNext programming software, VGP_AI automatically recommends process settings based on the part geometry and material, reducing the trial-and-error typically associated with machine setup. The technology is designed to support both experienced and newer operators, with particular benefits for those still building their programming experience or tackling more complex bending operations.

Developed using decades of BLM GROUP tube bending expertise and application knowledge, VGP_AI analyzes a part's geometry and material to recommend an initial set of bending parameters before production begins. Operators review the recommendation and decide whether to accept, modify or reject it, maintaining full control of the process while reducing the time typically spent setting up a new job.

"VGP_AI puts bending expertise directly into the hands of every operator, so programming a tube bender no longer requires years of hands-on experience," said Matt Irwin, product manager, tube and wire forming products at BLM GROUP USA. "It helps operators establish an accurate starting point more quickly, allowing them to spend less time on setup and more time producing parts. The software provides intelligent recommendations, but the operator always has full control over the final outcome."

BLM GROUP developed VGP_AI to become more capable over time through ongoing refinement of its AI model. Because the service is managed within BLM GROUP's software environment, improvements are delivered centrally while customer data remains protected within the company's secure infrastructure.

The introduction of VGP_AI reflects the continued investment by BLM GROUP in advancing tube-bending technology. By combining artificial intelligence with decades of tube-bending expertise, BLM GROUP is making advanced application knowledge more accessible while helping manufacturers bring new jobs into production with greater confidence.

BLM GROUP’s new VGP_AI, is an artificial intelligence service that helps manufacturers establish tube bending parameters before production begins. The tool is integrated into the company's VGPNext programming software.

  • Novi, Mich., Sept 15, 2026 – BLM GROUP USA will introduce the PRO-RUNNER 28 to the North American market at FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas, Booth C1208. Designed to produce complex tubular components from coil, the all-electric tube bending system features patented mandrel bending technology and combines multiple operations in a continuous workflow.

The PRO-RUNNER 28 processes tubes up to 28mm in diameter and integrates straightening, calibration, end-forming, bending, drilling, cutting and automatic unloading. A magnetically suspended mandrel positioned inside the tube enables mandrel bending directly from coil, supporting tight bend radii and thin-wall applications while minimizing ovalization.

“PRO-RUNNER 28 gives manufacturers a different way to approach high-volume tube production,” said Matt Irwin, product manager, tube and wire forming products at BLM GROUP USA. “When you're producing tubular components with complex geometries, every additional handling step adds time to the process and creates opportunities for error. Starting from coil and completing multiple operations on one system simplifies how those parts move through production while supporting more consistent part quality.”

Traditional coil-fed bending systems can be limited when an application requires internal mandrel support. The patented mandrel technology of the PRO-RUNNER 28 addresses this challenge, enabling high-quality bends with small centerline radii and thin-wall tubing while maintaining continuous coil-fed production. Because material is supplied from coil rather than pre-cut lengths, manufacturers can produce long tubular components without the length restrictions associated with conventional tube-fed processes. Vertical, horizontal and jumbo coil feeder options allow manufacturers to configure the system based on production volume and available floor space.

The PRO-RUNNER 28 supports mandrel and non-mandrel bending using rotary draw or compression bending, with fixed and variable multi-radius capabilities that can be combined on the same part. Right- and left-hand bending further expands its ability to produce complex 3D geometries and serpentine shapes.

Beyond bending, the PRO-RUNNER 28 can integrate additional operations into the same automated production sequence. An end-forming module accommodates a range of forming operations, while an optional spindle motor enables drilling after bending, including within curved sections, without affecting tube circularity. A Collar Drill device can also be integrated to produce collared holes that simplify subsequent manufacturing or assembly operations. Tooling changeovers are quick, with simplified setup and assembly between jobs.

Programming is performed through BLM GROUP VGPNext software, with 3D simulation allowing users to evaluate the bending sequence before production begins.

The PRO-RUNNER 28 is well suited for small- and medium-diameter tubular components used in automotive, HVAC, industrial vehicle, appliance, furniture and contract manufacturing applications. By bringing coil feeding, bending and additional processing operations together on one system, manufacturers can reduce the need to move parts between separate machines and operations.
