COE Press Equipment designs and manufactures a complete line of premiere coil handling and servo roll feed equipment from stand-alone roll feeds, straighteners, reels, cradles and servo feeds to complete integrated feed systems and cut-to-length lines. COE was the first to engineer and design solutions aimed specifically at straightening advanced high strength steels (AHSS), which provide leveler-quality flatness that can meet the exacting demands of fineblanking. Additionally, COE has a dedicated service department that offers complete 24/7/365 technical support, field service, preventative maintenance, and technical training

Whether you need a completely integrated line, an individual piece of equipment, or a simple controls upgrade, COE can meet your requirements with the right equipment and service. COE supplies and services a wide variety of global markets and industries including automotive, appliance, lighting, metal processing, housewares, lawn and garden, contract stampers, tool and die builders, and many others.

 Press Releases

  • At FABTECH 2018 in booth #A2113, COE Press Equipment is announcing the redesign of its Heavy-Duty (HD) Servo Roll Feeds, now offering increased speed, precision and decreased cost of operation while being more robust and capable of handling thicker materials. Based upon a modular design, the feeds provide ease of maintenance and the flexibility to reconfigure machine options should a customer’s needs change.

Design changes include a 15 percent increase to journal and bearings sizes, enabling the feeds to handle material thickness up to 0.750-in. To optimize performance, COE reduced the air cylinder diameter across the product line. Minimizing cylinder size reduces the air required to pilot the feeder, helping to achieve faster speeds.

The edge guides have been designed to be more robust and flexible, and a new Single Point Roll Lift adjustment option helps operators to quickly set the optimal roll gap to ensure proper piloting.  Both of these features are available in a hand crank, motorized or automated configuration.

The revamped product line, consisting of the 500, 600, 700 and 800 series, is available in nine widths from 18-in. to 78-in. COE has released two new pull-through straighteners models to work in conjunction with these HD feeds. The feeds are designed to work with or without a power straightener.

COE also developed a Servo-Piloting option to increase productivity in high-speed and high-precision applications, which will be on display in the booth.  Servo-Piloting allows accurate, repeatable pilot timing at speeds more than 10x faster than air piloting mechanisms.

These systems can process a wide range of heavy gauge materials including advanced steels. The HD Feeds can reach speeds up to 319 FPM, or up to 409 FPM with the Servo-Piloting option and have a peak motor torque of 1406 to 1800 lbs. based on model and configuration.

  • COE Press Equipment announced the enhancement of its existing 3-2-1 Warranty to a new exclusive 5-4-3 Warranty. This new warranty provides five-year limited coverage on components manufactured by COE; four-year limited coverage on mechanical components installed by COE; and three-year coverage on the complete system.

In recent years, COE has made a strategic move toward modular products based upon standard designs. This change has reduced the number of components required, reducing the number of welds and streamlining assembly. This has enabled the company to increase the reliability and simplify the maintenance of the coil processing equipment, as well as accommodating reconfiguration as a customer’s need changes.

“We believe that COE has always been recognized for producing robust machines,” commented President Reid Coe, “but with our new designs, we see even more reliability with fewer parts required for repairs, enabling us to confidently offer this unique warranty.”

Founded in 1976, COE Press Equipment designs and manufactures a complete line of premiere coil handling and servo roll feed equipment from stand-alone roll feeds, straighteners, reels, cradles and air feeds to complete integrated feed systems and cut-to-length lines. • COE Press Equipment is displaying its new Heavy-Duty (HD) Servo-Piloting Servo Feeds at Fabtech 2018 in booth #A2113. The servo-piloting release is completely programmable so that stampers can optimize the feed window and the pilot-release window for each die, achieving the highest precision and speed for each application. These systems can process a wide range of heavy gauge materials including advanced steels. Designed for high speed environments, these feeds also feature increased journal and bearing sizes that can deliver high torque, speed and accuracy.

COE’s new servo-piloting feeds offer many advantages over air feeds, including an extremely fast response time; only about 5ms as compared to 50 – 150ms with a pneumatic piloting system. Additionally, these systems require less maintenance by eliminating the need for hoses and air, as well as providing energy savings.

The new HD Servo-Piloting Feeds are available in styles featuring 5, 6, 7, or 8-inch roll diameters, and can process materials from 18-in. to 84-in. wide in thicknesses from .030-in. to .75-in.  Depending upon style, drive ratio and feed angle, these new feeds can reach speeds of up to 409 FPM.

These feeds are designed to work with COE’s ServoMaster™ Controllers featuring a user-friendly 5.7-in. VGA color touchscreen interface and the ability to store 500 job memory storage.
