  • HGG & Pemamek Partnership Extended to Shipyard Solutions

Pemamek Ltd., a global welding and production automation provider, and HGG Profiling Equipment BV, a market leader in developing and supplying 3D pipe and profile-cutting machines, have made a joint announcement to extend their strategic partnership to shipyard solutions.

With the partnership extension, both companies are now able to supply integrated cutting and welding technology, including profile-processing lines, pipe-cutting lines and T-beam manufacturing lines for ship part fabrication. The strategic partnership between HGG and Pemamek to better support both sets of customers was first announced in April of this year.

“HGG has unique expertise in developing automated profile cutting solutions, and through our collaboration Pemamek’s shipbuilding customers will be able to benefit from it. Moving forward, we now have even better capability to provide extensive profile shop solutions to increase our shipyard customers’ production,” summarizes Jaakko Heikonen, CEO, Pemamek Ltd.

With advanced integration between HGG’s profile cutting expertise and PEMA welding automation, shipyard customers will be able to increase productivity, while adding more competitiveness and value to ship part production. Integrated easy-to-use software will bring additional advantages to customers as well. Customers will benefit from full control over cutting and welding processes, as well as be able to make the best use out of collected production data.

The HGG and Pemamek shipyard partnership has already delivered customer benefits. A recent customer solution from Pemamek included technologically advanced PEMA-HGG cutting and welding integration, which resulted in the most advanced production automation lines available for MV WERFTEN’s Rostock and Wismar shipyards.

“Pemamek is the global technology and market leader in welding automation. HGG is a global leader in 3D profiling equipment solutions. The synergy between our technologies is clear. The integration of HGG and PEMA solutions is seamless, both mechanically and through both of our software. With this partnership, both companies are now able to deliver more customer value, while strengthening our combined market presence and client network,” describes Wiebe Wiersma, Global Sales Manager, HGG Profiling Equipment BV.

Both, Pemamek and HGG, will continue to operate as independent entities, with service to their existing customers and industries remaining unchanged.

  • VIEW & CHECK 3D PROFILING DETAILS WITH FREE HGG SOFTWARE

HGG just released new HGG ProCAM Lite™ Software free of charge. Available for manufacturers and fabricators, HGG ProCAM Lite is the first software that enables users to view as well as check 3D cutting details on pipes, beams and bulbs prior to cutting. Neither HGG cutting machinery nor any cutting machine is required for users to benefit from this new software to improve cutting productivity. To get a free copy of ProCAM Lite software click: http://www.hgg-group.com/hgg-procam-lite/

HGG ProCAM Lite software currently consists of two program parts, a DSTV viewer and a pipe viewer. The software enables users to perform final production data checks without the need for a machine and without having to purchase viewing software. Users can review any DSTV, NC, XML or PCD file, viewing all parameters and weld details, including root openings and markings prior to cutting and production. With ProCAM Lite software, users will be better able to take control over their cutting designs while also improving their workflow, from detailing through production.

HGG ProCAM Lite software incorporates unique interactive measuring tools for visualizing and validating 3D NC data, reducing cutting errors and providing material savings. Because HGG was the initial developer of the XML PCD file format, HGG ProCAM Lite software is especially beneficial for viewing tubular Tekla structures and tubular connections. The software also includes a new “scribing” feature, which enables users to view the positions of welded parts on the main structure. According to Tekla’s Michael Hodgson, “With HGG ProCAM Lite, anyone involved in a project can view any DSTV data or pipe cutting data created in Tekla before it’s cut and manufactured.”

  • NEW HGG SHIP PROFILER AUTOMATES CUTTING PRODUCTIVITY IN AN AFFORDABLE SMALL MACHINE FOOTPRINT

HGG’S new UPC 450 Ship Profiler increases cutting and pre-fabrication productivity by eliminating the need to cut ship stiffeners and spools by hand. HGG production automation combines ship stiffener cutting, 3D profile cutting with optional tube cutting in the first affordably priced machine of its kind. The UPC Ship Profiler also has a small machine footprint, saving valuable floor space.

The HGG UPC 450 Ship Profiler offers full process cutting integration through the HGG ProCAM Software Suite, integrating thermal cutting HGG ProCAD design, HGG ProGRAM work preparation coordination, and HGG’s internationally recognized 3D plasma cutting intelligence. The end result, precision stiffener and tubular spool cutting that reduces fitting and welding time, which in-turn saves labor costs.

The UPC 450 Ship Profiler is a cutting machine with a small footprint, but a wide range of capabilities. The machine makes it easy to load material on a cutting table and then quickly cut it within the cutting cell, cutting ship stiffener profiles from flat bars, bulbs, and angles, as well as cutting spools from tubular pipes. The cutting cell includes a cutting trolley that controls all movement and HGG’s patented cutting head and biaxial cutting torch, capable of precision accuracy. To maximize worker health and safety, the machine includes two fume extraction modules, safely capturing and disposing of plasma dust, smoke and fumes.

The Ship Profiler is designed to be versatile and can be easily configured to accommodate a variety of fabrication needs and footprint requirements. One person can quickly and easily convert the Ship Profiler from cutting profiles to cutting tubes.
