  • The DeHoff G548-D4 is a four spindle gundrilling machine designed for high-volume production of gun barrels. It features automated loading and unloading of the barrels to enable long periods of untended machine running. Up to 48 barrels can be pre-loaded into the magazine holder, and lift-and-carry automation is used to load the barrels in and out of the fixturing.

    The G548-D4 has four gundrilling spindles with a barrel diameter range from 17 to 50 caliber, and a maximum barrel length of 27 inches (686 mm). The machine incorporates a cast iron drill head base with steel box ways, plus hand-scraped and fitted saddle, gibs, and straps (versus linear guide ways and milled surfaces). This results in superior vibration damping and extended gundrill tool life.

    The G548-D4 is part of a turnkey package of gun barrel manufacturing equipment offered by DeHoff, including machines for gundrilling, pull-reaming, button rifling, cut rifling, as well as tooling, stress relieve ovens, and air gauging equipment.   • The DeHoff 518 Cell is a gundrilling machine for high-volume production of scroll compressor drive shafts. The shaft requires a different diameter hole to be drilled in each end for lubrication of the scroll bearing.  

    The DeHoff 518 Cell is comprised of 9 gundrilling spindles used to drill the opposing holes. The larger diameter, shorter hole is produced first using 3 gundrilling spindles on a single machine base. The smaller diameter, deeper hole is produced next using 6 gundrilling spindles (two separate machine bases with 3 spindles each). More spindles are dedicated to the deeper hole because of its longer cycle time, which results in a balanced throughput for each gundrilling operation.

    The 518 Cell has a 0.5-inch (12.7 mm) gundrilling capacity and an 18-inch (457 mm) slide travel. The machine features a cast iron drill head base with hardened and ground steel box ways, plus hand-scraped and fitted saddle, gibs, and straps (versus linear guide ways and milled surfaces). This results in superior vibration damping, extended tool life, and improved accuracy and surface finish.

  • The Eldorado M75-30T is a twin-spindle gundrilling machine with a redesigned counter-rotation fixture. To maximize the effectiveness of the gundrilling operation, it is ideal for the workpiece to be rotated in the opposite direction of the drill rotation. This improves the straightness of the drilled hole and reduces drill drift. The new counter-rotation fixture on the M75-30T features an improved gearbox and motor mount that reduces vibration. The new design also introduces automatic advance/retract of the entire counter-rotation assembly via a programmable servo, which simplifies part loading and unloading and reduces cycle time.

    The M75-30T has a 0.75 inch (19 mm) diameter drilling capacity and a 30 inch (762 mm) maximum drilling depth. It has two gundrilling spindles utilizing independent spindle control, which enables it to perform two independent drilling cycles at the same time. The machine also incorporates flame-hardened and ground cast iron box ways and hand-scraped spindle housings (instead of linear guide ways and milled surfaces). This results in superior vibration damping and extended tool life.

    The redesigned DeHoff 2072TC is a gundrilling machine with 5-axis capability...

  • The redesigned DeHoff 2072TC is a gundrilling machine with 5-axis capability. The gundrilling spindle is mounted on a traveling column to provide the X-axis and Y-axis movement. A CAT 40 spindle is also mounted on the traveling column to enable secondary operations like milling and tapping. The machine is ideal for drilling complex hole patterns, like those seen in heat exchangers, manifolds and molds.

    The 2072TC has a 2-inch (50.8 mm) gundrilling capacity and a 72-inch (1829 mm) slide travel. The traveling column provides 60 inches (1524 mm) of X-axis travel and 46 inches (1168 mm) of Y-axis travel. Workpiece fixturing options include a stationary T-slot table and a rotary table with self-centering hydraulic vises. The rotary table provides B-axis rotation, and is mounted on a W-axis slide to provide clearance when rotating a long workpiece. Load capacity for the entire work table is 9,000 lbs (4,082 kg).

    The machine features a cast iron drill head base with hardened steel box ways (versus linear guide ways). Standard elements are also included on the DeHoff 2072TC, such as a high-pressure coolant system and Beckhoff controls with G-Code programming capability.

  • The Eldorado KM75-48 is a 3-axis gundrilling machine used to manufacture products like transmission shafts, manifolds, and mold matrices. The machine includes updated Beckhoff controls with G-Code programming, which provides enhanced flexibility. Complex gundrilling operations can be performed with a single fixturing setup.

    The KM75-48 features a “knee” fixture table to provide 3-axis CNC gundrilling capability. Drill capacity is 0.078 to 0.75 inches (1.98 to 19.1 mm). Drill slide travel in the Z-axis is 48 inches (1219 mm), with table travel of 24 inches (610 mm) in the X-axis and 12 inches (305 mm) in the Y-axis. 

    The machine incorporates hardened and ground box ways and hand-scraped mating components (versus linear guide ways and milled surfaces). This results in superior vibration damping, extended tool life, and improved hole accuracy and surface finish. Standard elements are also included on the KM75-48, such as the F18 high-pressure coolant system and a machine enclosure.

  • The DeHoff BTA/STS 2084 is a BTA drilling machine used to manufacture drive shafts for helicopter tail rotors. The shaft begins as a solid piece of high-strength alloy steel, and is drilled in a single pass using the BTA machine. This process results in a significant weight reduction for the finished drive shaft.

    The BTA/STS 2084 has a 2-inch (50.8 mm) drilling capacity and an 84-inch (2134 mm) drilling depth. The machine can also be offered with slide travels of 36 inches (914 mm), 60 inches (1524 mm), or 120 inches (3048 mm). It has a single spindle with a 20 hp spindle motor. A high-torque gearbox with a 4-speed transmission enables the machine to deliver up to twice the torque output of a standard DeHoff model.
