The SX9 SiAlON ceramic’s durability and the specially designed flutes allow this endmill to achieve speeds up to 2000 SFM which is more than 15 times faster than standard carbide endmills.     BIDEMICS – An Industry Changer

    NTK’s BIDEMICS is an industry changing material available in JX1, JP2, and New JX3 with its increased toughness. These grades effectively machine Heat Resistant Super Alloy (HRSA) materials like Inconel 718 and Rene 65 at speeds of 1600 SFM, increasing productivity for parts manufacturers. When JX1 and JX3 grades are run at typical whisker ceramic speeds customers easily achieve double the tool life over whisker grades but, BIDEMICS’ excellence shines-through at increased speeds. For finishing operations, BIDEMICS achieve 10-15 times higher speed capability over carbides and better wear and notch resistance than CBN’s.

    New SX3 – Machine Rene’s & Waspaloy

    NTK’s SiAlON grade, SX3, exhibits the ideal combination of wear resistance and toughness for cutting Heat Resistant Super Alloys (HRSA). Machine the newest generation of HRSA work materials, like Rene and Waspaloy, as well as today’s most common materials (Inconel 718) with confidence. SX3 grade is effective at roughing and semi-finishing operations for turning and milling applications, using RCGX, RNG, RPGX, SNG, SNGX geometries. Its superior strength is apparent with the insert’s boundary wear resistance resulting in longer tool life, compared to competitor’s grades.

    Ceramic End Mills for HRSA and Cast-Iron Machining
    NTK Cutting Tools’ new Solid Ceramic End Mills have proven results of up to 20 x higher productivity compared to carbide end mills when machining HRSA materials, such as Inconel 718. NEWLY released 4, 6, and 8 flute end mills incorporate specific edge designs capable of machining cast iron parts with superior results.  The extreme performance is achieved with combined characteristics of durability from the SX9 ceramic grade and toughness built into the unique flute edge design for excellent chipping resistance and long tool life. The end mill’s balance of toughness and wear resistance enables them to machine even the most demanding applications.              

    TFX Series – Up to .197” (5mm) DOC

    NTK has developed the TFX front turning carbide inserts (wiper is available) for Swiss CNC applications, capable of machining large depths of cut in one pass (up to 0.197”). The inserts incorporate a special chip-breaker with a sharp cutting edge resulting in excellent chip control and surface finishes. The corresponding TFT series holders have rigid side screw clamp to ensure stable turning by preventing movement of the insert from z-directional cutting forces. Pair the TFX inserts with a coolant through holder (TFT...-OH) to improve chip evacuation, surface finish, part tolerance, and tool life.     

    NEW ST4 Grade Carbide Inserts

    ST4, a new super tough PVD coated carbide grade released by NTK Cutting Tools. The thick CrAlN coating provides high hardness and oxidation resistance solving issues related to machining stainless steels like 304SS. High speed machining applications with ST4 inserts have proven results with stable machining, excellent surface finishes, and extended tool life. This super tough coating combined with NTK’s top of the line chip-breakers for front turning, back turning, grooving, cut-off, and ID turning will exceed your machining expectations.

    Remarkable Results with our Carbide End Mill

    NTK’s S-Mill Series carbide end mills, the latest addition to our quality selection of Swiss Tools. The sharpness of these end mills reduces the occurrence of burrs, produces remarkable surface finish, and improves tool life to outperform the competition. S-Mills are available in 2, 3, and 4 flute designs with a range of diameters to cover a wide variety of applications (2 flute available in a 2mm dia.) and in 40, 45, and 50mm lengths that are ideal for automatic lathes. The AC3 (TiAlN coated) carbide grade is ideal for side milling, slotting, and profiling in steel and stainless-steel materials.

The SX9 SiAlON ceramic’s durability and the specially designed flutes allow this endmill to achieve speeds up to 2000 SFM which is more than 15 times faster than standard carbide endmills. The toughness built into the unique flute edge design provides excellent chipping resistance resulting in long tool life.  NTK has developed NEW 4, 6, and 8 flute endmill tools incorporating specific edge designs capable of machining cast iron parts with superior results.

    Customers machining Inconel 718 parts for the aerospace industry have switched to NTK’s end- mill because of noticeable production increase potentials. The SX9 endmill successfully completed a roughing and semi-finishing pass at 2400 SFM with superior results, reducing the machine time to 4 minutes as opposed to the 24 minutes of the original tool.

  • BIDEMICS – An industry changing composite cutting tool material which effectively machines Heat Resistant Super Alloy (HRSA) materials. Parts manufacturers experience increased machining capacity, without a need for investing in new machinery, by simply using JX1, JX3 and JP2 grade inserts at the optimal parameters for their specific application (up to 1600 SFM). BIDEMICS has a proven record of wear resistance exceeding the tool life of the competition, as well as its ability to provide excellent surface finishes on HRSA aerospace components.

    Customers machining components for the aerospace industry such as, LPT Cases in 718 Plus, Turbine disks in Inconel 718 and Rene’s, Spool part in Rene 65, and Shafts have switched to BIDEMICS because of noticeable production increase potentials. Even when maintaining whisker insert parameters, the performance of JX1, JX3 & JP2 easily doubles manufacturing output but its excellence shines-through at increased speeds.

    Manufacturers machining Inco 718 Turbine disks with JX1 & JX3 inserts running at speeds of 1300 SFM, compared to the whisker insert max speed of 650 SFM, have cut the production time in half increasing capacity from 100 to 200 pcs. JP2 runs a finishing operation of Inco 718 at speeds 7 times faster than the conventional carbide inserts (800SFM compared to 120 SFM.)
