BAAM - Big Area Additive Manufacturing is a large fast additive machine that extrudes reinforced thermoplastic to build large durable parts.
SAAM - Small Area Additive Manufacturing is Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) machine that is built to share. Cloud software is used for programming and scheduling. Automatic part removal allows around the clock operation.
CINCINNATI is a manufacturer of high tech metal fabricating machinery including press brakes, shears and laser cutting systems including material handling. CINCINNATI also manufactures powdered metal compacting presses, a type of high production additive manufacturing. BAAM is one of the first additive machines designed and constructed from the viewpoint of a company that makes rugged reliable production machinery designed for the demands of US manufacturing.
BAAM is being developed in conjunction with Oak Ridge National Laboratory Manufacturing Demonstration Facility with funding from the United States Department of Energy. Material for parts in the exhibit has been provided by Techmer Engineered Solutions and SABIC Innovative Plastics.
