Minneapolis, MN – Avonix Imaging has built and installed another state-of-the-art Computed Tomography (CT) X-ray system in their Maple Grove offices, specifically designed to provide customers with very advanced 3D scanning capabilities. It is called the M2 225/450 and is a large envelope imaging system available for contract inspection services in the company's imaging lab.
The M2 225/450 is designed to easily accommodate the vast range of products which require CT imaging throughout all industry sectors. Objects range from small electronics and hardware – to larger and higher density components – such as turbine blades, castings, and complex additive manufactured parts.
The newest M2 in Avonix Imaging's testing lab is built with a granite-based, high-precision, multi-axis manipulator. It is paired with a Nikon 225kV microfocus X-ray source and their proprietary 450kV microfocus rotating-target X-ray source. The system features both an area detector as well as Nikon’s proprietary CLDA (curved linear diode array). The Avonix Imaging two-position detector panel shift option provides nearly twice the scanning diameter envelope of conventional systems. This M2 is equipped for helical scanning so even tall parts can be scanned in just a single pass.
