Lithoz is the world market and technology leader in additive manufacturing systems for advanced technical ceramics. Lithoz CeraFab 3D printers use lithography-based ceramics manufacturing to deliver the quality, reliability, and repeatability needed for serial production of smooth, precise, finely-detailed ceramic parts.

Advanced ceramic materials offer better performance in extreme environments than traditional plastics or metals. Advanced ceramics offer excellent dimensional stability, wear resistance, and electrical insulation, as well as the ability to withstand extremes of heat, pressure, and harsh chemical environments.

Additive manufacturing allows you to in-source the development and production of ceramic parts. With a Lithoz system, you can print a wide variety of ceramics including alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride, and silica-based materials, for applications including structural parts, insulators, combustion lattices, catalyst supports, and casting-cores.

Lithoz America, LLC offers machine sales, application support, and custom material development from our Troy, NY location.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    LITHOZ AMERICA JOINS AMERICA MAKES

Lithoz Brings Ceramics Additive Manufacturing Expertise to the America Makes Partnership

TROY, NY - September 8, 2021 – Lithoz America has joined America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute. Lithoz is deeply rooted in ceramics engineering and will bring their unique expertise to help America Makes members adopt ceramics additive manufacturing.

Before 3D printing, ceramic parts were challenging to manufacture, especially for complex geometries, low volume production, or designs that changed frequently. Additive manufacturing lowers barriers to innovation and shortens supply chains by allowing product development and serial production to be done in-house. “Companies familiar with polymer and metal AM will find that 3D printing makes ceramics manufacturing much easier than they would imagine” said Shawn Allan, Vice President at Lithoz America.  “We can help America Makes members gain the competitive advantages that come with having in-house ceramics expertise.”

Advanced ceramic materials offer better performance in extreme environments than plastics or metals -- a ceramic nozzle delivering abrasive media will provide a much longer service life than a metal nozzle, for example. Ceramics offer excellent dimensional stability, wear resistance, and electrical insulation, as well as the ability to withstand extremes of heat, pressure, and harsh chemicals. Since ceramics are often employed when other materials fail, Lithoz 3D printers are purpose-built to match or exceed the material properties of conventionally manufactured ceramic parts, and provide the precision, surface quality, and final part density needed for end-use in industrial and scientific applications.

Lithoz CeraFab 3D printers are Digital Light Processing (DLP) systems that yield high resolution parts with economical material usage. Lithoz offers a wide variety of standard technical ceramics including alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride, and silica-based materials, for applications including structural parts, insulators, static mixers, catalyst supports, and casting-cores. Lithoz’ open material platform allows users to develop their own resin/powder material systems, and the new CeraFab Multi 2M30 printer provides researchers the capability to develop ceramic/ceramic, ceramic/metal, and ceramic/polymer multi-material systems, as well as functionally graded ceramic materials.

  • CERAMIC 3D PRINTING GLOBAL MARKET LEADER LITHOZ CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP IN QUALITY AND INNOVATION

Ceramic 3D Printing Global Market Leader Lithoz Celebrates 10 Years of Leadership in Quality and Innovation
    - Lithoz, world market leader in high quality ceramic 3D printing, is this year celebrating a decade since its founding in August 2011 - An emotional celebration video was published to pay tribute to the Lithoz team spirit - Lithoz renews its brand promise which is based on core values deeply rooted in the company’s foundation - The anniversary serves as a perfect opportunity to look ahead at the future
Vienna, Austria – 7th September 2021. Lithoz GmbH, world industry and technology leader in ceramic 3D printing, has announced its ten-year anniversary as a provider of 3D printing machines and materials. Initially founded as a spin-off from the TU Wien in 2011, Lithoz was created with the mission to establish ceramic 3D printing as a reliable manufacturing process for industrial mass production.

The first few years saw a great deal of personal effort, determination and commitment from the founders to achieve the excellence in quality Lithoz is known for today. “When we started the company, nobody was actually able to do the additive manufacturing of high-performance ceramics,” explained Dr. Johannes Homa, CEO of Lithoz. “Nobody could meet the industrial standards. We did something that was not possible before.”

Lithoz renews its brand promise based on core values in their DNA

After a decade of successfully building a global market leadership, it is now time to look back on the founding years and the efforts behind Lithoz’s success. Behind the company stands a strong set of values, born out of the company’s own history and now making up integral parts of its DNA. The combination of these core values – the importance of the team, the strong ties to academia, an emphasis on endurance and precision and the collaboration with customers in an honest partnership – has over the years strengthened the company’s commitment to its overall promise of delivering top quality in ceramic 3D printing technology and creating partnerships in innovation.

A starting point for a look into future

As the world leader in this technology, Lithoz already knows the power of this production technique to produce parts once thought unimaginable - its goal is to ensure the rest of the manufacturing world knows it too. “Our vision has always been to implement 3D printing on an ever larger industrial scale – and further strengthen our position as the number one choice for newcomers in the field,” stated Dr. Benedikt, highlighting their success as the first company in history to enable entry into mass production via ceramic 3D printing. Lithoz’s work as quality and innovation leaders in the additive manufacturing of ceramic parts will, over the next few years, establish the technology as a fixed part of the ceramic industry which goes hand-in-hand with traditional manufacturing techniques.

Lithoz GmbH is the world and technology leader for high-performance ceramic materials and 3D printers. Founded in 2011, Lithoz is committed to breaking the boundaries of ceramic production and supporting customers in expanding the manufacturing opportunities for the ceramic industry. The company has an export share of almost 100%, more than 80 employees and, since 2017, a subsidiary in the USA. Since 2016, Lithoz has also been ISO 9001-2015 certified.
