Solar Atmospheres is one of the world’s largest providers of commercial vacuum heat treating services. Solar's thermal processing produces bright, scale-free parts with minimal distortion.  Solar serves over 18 industries including aerospace, defense, medical, and power generation.

Our state-of-the art services include vacuum heat treating, brazing, carburizing, and nitriding.  With over 60 furnaces ranging from lab-sized to 48 feet long, Solar Atmospheres can efficiently handle any size job. Solar operates plants in Eastern and Western PA, California, and South Carolina.

Only the vacuum heat treating process can produce the critical temperature uniformity and the vital heating and cooling rates by thermocoupling parts in direct contact with the metal. The vacuum heat treating process has the ability to attain vacuum levels of 1x10^-6 Torr which is necessary to produce the clean oxide free results. These critical thermal and atmospheric conditions only aid in producing strong, ductile and crack-free metallurgical results that are paramount with new metallurgy of 3D metal printing.
