Blue Photon manufacturers a patented photo-activated adhesive workholding system. Blue Photon’s grip technology solves workholding problems associated with current workholding devices. The technology allows the user to hold parts and most materials without clamping. It also offers fixture design and engineering for milling, turning, grinding, EDM, laser, inspection, and assembly applications, including aerospace, additive, robotics, and medical machining.

Blue Photon Ultraviolet Workholding Technology for Additive Manufacturing

  • Blue Photon Technology & Workholding Systems LLC
Blue Photon workholding products are designed to hold parts for tight-tolerance machining, inspection, and to eliminate operations. Complex-shaped, hard-to-hold parts, and delicate materials are particularly suited to Blue Photon’s workholding technology....

  • Blue Photons patented workholding Grippers are load bearing and light transmitting fixture components inserted into a fixture which supplies up to 605 lbs of tensile holding power each. The process involves applying BlueGrip workholding adhesive to the Grippers and curing through the grippers with UV light for 60 seconds. By using grippers, and eliminating clamps on top of the part, exceptional cutting tool access is achieved. The part de-bonds with a ¼ turn twist of the gripper or hot water soak. Residual adhesive is simply removed by the application with pressurized steam or hot water soak, and a light peeling action. Any part that is at risk of distortion from traditional clamping or pose complications in fixture design are a potential candidate for Blue Photon’s workholding technology.

Blue Photon is a manufacturer of innovative workholding components, including patented Blue Photon Grippers and Insert Assembly products. Blue Photon offers fixture design and engineering for milling, turning, grinding, EDM, laser, inspection, and assembly applications for the aerospace, additive, robotics, job shops, and medical machining industries.
