  • Czechowice-Dziedzice, Poland, 16th November 2021 – Evatronix SA, manufacturer of eviXscan 3D scanners, has announced an update to its 3D software - eviXscan 3D Suite 2.8. The new version introduces improvements for key algorithms that increase the speed and quality of eviXscan 3D scanners (up to 40% faster run time, up to 30% increase in accuracy). Purchasing a software update provides access to further functionality enhancements for 12 months from the date of purchase.

The eviXscan 3D software update version 2.8 introduced an improvement of scanning parameters, which is noticeable especially to the older generation of eviXscan 3D scanners, such as measuring devices from Heavy Duty line (Quadro, Optima or Basic). This improvement allows for significantly better scanning results, so there is no need to replace the device with a newer model. Compared to previous versions of eviXscan 3D, the point cloud generation time has been significantly reduced in Suite 2.8.

The latest version of the software allows eviXscan 3D scanners to be integrated with Universal Robots and HAN*S robots without external plug-ins. Additionally, easier interface, adaptation for easy localization and new language versions of the software (Polish, Chinese, French) have been introduced.

Update of eviXscan 3D Suite software has been enhanced with the following functionalities:

    • New scan generator – an optimized algorithm allows to obtain a scan of better quality while reducing the time of its generation.
    • Best Fit – automation of the manual fitting process, where an algorithm uses the part shape, curvature, and surface to achieve the best possible scan match.
    • New version of the Merging function – thanks to a better quality of merging, it is possible to improve subsequent stages of post-processing (hole filling or smoothing).
    • Hole filling, which can be performed in three ways:
    1. Holes filling selection – used to manually select holes for filling.
    2. Holes filling densely – allows you to fill all holes in the mesh (the algorithm updates the existing mesh of triangles).
    3. Holes filling waterproof – closes the STL file (the algorithm creates a new mesh).
    • Auto-exposure of markers – is based on automatic selection of optimal exposure settings for scanning with markers.

    – The program eviXscan 3D Suite 2.8 is another step towards full automation of scanning, thanks to the development of an automatic selection of exposure times for scanning, markers and support for Universal Robots and HANS robots – says Szymon Ścibik, R&D leader at Evatronix SA. – In addition, the new version of the point cloud generator works several times faster, can significantly improve the accuracy of generated scans even for older scanners, and most importantly, gives better results when scanning dark, shiny details without splashing. While creating new versions of the software we relied on our customers' and partners' opinions to make sure that the software we create meets the growing requirements.

All eviXscan 3D scanners purchased after November 15, 2021, will be delivered to customers with the latest version of eviXscan 3D Suite 2.8 software.

  • The eviXscan 3D WideRange 65 scanner has been designed for precise quality control of large elements (from 300 to 1200 mm) in the shortest possible time. WideRange 65 model scanning range (575 x 290 x 240 mm) reduces the amount of measurement data and scanning time even up to 1.2 second for large parts.

High resolution of cameras (8.9 mPix) allows very good scanning results over such a large range. WideRange 65 provides high density of scanning points (54 pts/mm2) and its accuracy reaches 0.03 mm (parameter Ps in accordance with the VDI/VDE guideline 2634 Part 2).

    Key features:

    • High scanning quality and accuracy with large working area
    • Short scan acquisition time
    • Easy integration with robots and cobots
    • Excellent value for money

The possibility of easy integration with a cooperating robot allows full automation of the scanning process and quality control. Minimizing the number of scans needed during quality control (QC) is a very important factor on production lines with generally limited time to scan and generate a QC report. The WideRange 65 has been developed for use on production lines but would also work well for reverse engineering and rapid prototyping tasks.

  • eviXscan 3D Quadro+
Quadro+ scanner is distinguished by two scanning ranges, which allow fast geometry measurement of large objects as well as precise measurement of tiny parts. Changing the scanning range is done in the software, so recalibration is not required....

  • Quadro+ is a universal scanner that can accelerate measurement workflows for objects of different sizes. The use of inner range enables efficient scanning of objects with size of 120 to 450 mm. For the outer range the recommended scanning size is from 250 to 1000 mm.

Compared to our previous dual-range model, the Quadro+ scanner has been equipped with cameras with much higher resolution (9 Mpix for outer range and 12 Mpix for inner range), which translates into greater measurement accuracy and higher quality of scans. Minimum scan acquisition time is 1.2 second.

    Key features:

    • Universal solution – two scanning ranges in one device
    • Easy to change scanning range without having to calibrate the scanner
    • High quality pattern display with 1080 Mpix Blue LED projector
    • Easy integration with cobots and robots

Two scanning ranges increase the versatility of the Quadro+. The scanner efficiently acquires measurement data of objects of different sizes, which does not require having two devices with different ranges. Due to the reduction of the scanner-to-object distance (365 mm for the inner range and 550 mm for the inner range) the Quadro+ can scan even dark objects. The inner range provides a point density of 351 pts/mm2. For the outer range the point density is 88 pts/mm2. In addition, the projector's illumination area almost completely overlaps the field seen by the cameras, making it much easier to position the scanner.
