Carbon is a 3D printing technology company helping businesses to develop better products and bring them to market in less time. The Carbon DLS™ process combines versatile printers, advanced software, and best-in-class materials to deliver functional parts with end-use performance and aesthetics, helping engineers and designers to create products that outperform expectations. From prototyping and low-volume production to production-at-scale, global organizations use the Carbon process to create a wide range of functional end-use parts and print them reliably wherever and whenever they need them through Carbon’s production network partners. Carbon is a venture-backed company headquartered in Redwood City, CA. To learn more, follow Carbon on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook or visit www.carbon3d.com.

  • M3 Printer
The M3 printer's advanced oxygen-permeable optics, closed loop control of force and temperature, and built-in IR-based resin heating means it has never been easier to get started printing the parts you want to make with DLS technology....

  • The next gen of DLS printing elevates the possibilities for innovation and part quality. We have improved print consistency across the build platform through force-feedback technology during printing, resulting in several newly realized benefits:

    • Up to 30% reduced variation in parts across a single-build (cross-build variation)
    • Premium surface finish you can see and feel
    • Unlocking more geometries with greater print accuracy, especially for elastomeric parts or parts with features most sensitive to high forces
    • Expanded possible part orientations to reduce print failures

Built-in infrared resin heating allows you to print with all Carbon engineering-grade resins by default. With better heat management, printers with the next generation of Carbon DLS deliver more throughput per square foot in thermally limited scenarios, like dental models, with improvements up to 2.5x faster than the M2 printer.

  • EPX 86FR is a groundbreaking resin for applications requiring flame-retardant and self-extinguishing features. It offers mechanical properties similar to our top selling resin, EPX 82, including balanced strength, functional toughness, and long-term stability.

EPX 86FR works well to create functional prototypes, manufacturing tools, and end-use parts for consumer, automotive, and industrial applications that require UL 94 V-0 or FAR 25.853(a) ratings. The target applications include the following:

    • Electronic device battery housings, fans, and circuit board covers
    • Automotive brackets, covers, fasteners, and cable clips
    • Unsealed connectors that operate at temperatures <105°C, and those with tanged terminal
    • Interior bushings and small components for commuter airplanes
