AddUp was established on April 1th 2016 when two industrial groups, Fives and Michelin, decided to create a major player in metal 3D printing. The aim of this joint venture is to let customers benefit from unique experience and expertise by developing and marketing industrial machines and production workshops based on metal additive manufacturing technology, commonly known as metal 3D printing, on a global scale.

AddUp’s offering includes technologies for both powder bed fusion (LBM, Laser Beam Melting) and, since acquiring BeAM in June 2018, metal powder deposition by laser (DED, Directed Energy Deposition). The company also provides services, consultancy and training to assist customers in adopting these innovative technologies. Thanks to recent stake acquisition in Poly-Shape, AddUp can now offer its customers unique access to a multi-manufacturer, multitechnology, multi-material and multi-application platform to help them determine the best technological solution for their parts production needs. Headquartered in Clermont‐Ferrand, France, with subsidiaries in the United States and Singapore, AddUp currently employs more than 300 members of staff.


  • FormUp® 350
    The FormUp® 350 is an industrial metal additive manufacturing machine which uses multi-laser beam melting technology to produce mass production components or prototyping.

  • With its 350 x 350 x 350 mm production zone and dual 500W Yb fiber lasers, the FormUp® 350 enables fast, reliable and precise production of metal parts directly from CAD data. Combining a bidirectional roller with fine powders, robust lasers and precise optics systems, the FormUp® 350 is capable of printing shallow angles (under 10⁰) and wide arches (70 mm) with no supports. Parts produced on this machine exhibit some of the best resolution and surface finishes in the metal AM industry.

  • Modulo 250

    The Modulo 250 is made for R&D on small parts. This compact, economical machine has a build volume of 400 x 250 x 300mm and uses a 500W fiber Laser. The 250 comes standard with a powder distributor with up to 2 hoppers of 1.5L.

    Modulo 400

    The Modulo 400 is a versatile, portable machine with a build volume of 650 x 400 x 400mm.  The 400 is upgradable with a 500W to 2kW fiber laser and a powder distributor with up to 5 hoppers of 1.5L.

    Magic 800

    The BeAM Flagship machine, the Magic is a large capacity machine with a build volume of 1200 x 800 x 800mm. This adaptable machine comes with 500W – 2kW fiber laser, a powder distributor with up to 5 hoppers of 1.5L, and an optional 3-axis secondary build table.
