UNISIG deep hole drilling machines are engineered and manufactured in the USA for our global customer base. We offer the entire deep hole drilling system – machines, tools, and automation. We also provide technical expertise, training, and remote as well as on-site service to help maximize the value of the investments our customers have made. The UNISIG standard range of deep hole drilling machines offers productive and accurate gundrilling, BTA drilling, trepanning, skiving and roller burnishing, and machining of complex internal bores. Our milling and drilling centers allow moldmakers to perform 5-axis machining along with precision deep hole drilling in a single setup, saving valuable time. When no standard machines meet a customer’s requirements, we are able to engineer a custom solution with the same expectations of performance and service as a standard machine. UNISIG excels at integrating automation into deep hole drilling systems, from machine-mounted automation elements to robotic automation within a manufacturing cell. Our internal expertise and experience has helped customers in multiple industries optimize production efficiency by combining effective deep hole drilling with expertly integrated automation.

 Press Releases

  • Versatile and reliable, the UNE series of gundrilling machines from UNISIG Deep Hole Drilling Systems make it possible for manufacturers of all sizes to bring gundrilling into their machine shops, and start drilling deep holes with a depth to diameter ratio of 100:1 or more.

These servo-driven gundrilling machines have the spindle speed, coolant delivery and accuracy to perform precision deep hole drilling in a wide range of materials. Features like counter-rotation of the cutting tool and workpiece improve the hole’s straightness and concentricity, and the control software monitors tool life and operating parameters for optimal quality. The UNE series’ fully enclosed work envelope and compact footprint make it a practical addition to CNC shops looking to expand their range of capabilities. Designed to work with automation, these machines are regularly configured into a manufacturing cell for optimized production.

UNISIG’s UNE series includes multiple machine models and configurations, with a maximum drill diameter between 12 mm and 40 mm (0.5 in – 1.57 in), depending on the model. Dual-spindle models double the productivity, or can be used in single spindle mode for an extended drilling diameter range. Maximum drilling depths reach 1,500 mm (59 in) or even 3,000 mm (118 in), depending on the machine model.

The flexibility of UNE series machines can be taken further with an optional universal workpiece table, allowing for a variety of workpiece fixturing to be utilized by the customer. This versatile series of machines balances high-performance components and engineering with a lower overall investment, offering a great complement to CNC machining centers.

  • UNISIG provides machines for the mold industry that combine deep hole drilling and milling in a single machine to reduce setup, improve speed and add flexibility in production of mold tools. UNISIG machines are engineered and manufactured in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
All USC-M machines are available with 5-axis positioning and are equipped with absolute scale feedback for high accuracy. The Heidenhain CNC is closely connected to complex machining and deep hole drilling, with Kinematics integration and process controls developed by UNISIG.
The USC-2M model is a universal spindle machine with flat floor installation. Exceptionally quick changeover between gundrilling and milling processes, and options for 40 – 60 position tool changers, are features that highlight the versatility of this machine. It is rated for parts up to 20 tons and 2000 mm (79 in) overall length, with an option for glass scales for improved accuracy.
There is currently a USC-2M machine under power that can be viewed in-person at our Menomonee Falls, WI showroom; about 30 minutes from the MKE airport.
In addition to new machines, UNISIG provides long-term service and support for our USC-M series machines. Available services include scheduled preventative maintenance programs, machine alignment and calibration, machine repair, and upgrades. UNISIG has spare parts inventory and factory technical support always available to its customers.
