AIMS introduced the Summit 10.10.10 with 5-axis REVO-2 in 2020 to put multisensor high volume, large part inspection in the hands of job shop operators. A stationary model, the CMM provides the industry's largest workpiece weight of 2,200 kg while preserving valuable floor space. Adopted by Honda Transmission Manufacturing of America Inc., the Summit can be automated with a robot load/unload system or pass-through process with a conveyor. The CMM can also be equipped with automatic tool adjustment. Renishaw’s 5-axis REVO-2 sensors include RVP vision and SFP2 surface measurement. The dynamic scanning probe provides measuring speeds up to 500 mm/second and data collection rates of up to 4,000 points per second for increased part throughput. Direct Drive Linear motors promote zero maintenance and improved uptime. A polymer-cast base has built-in vibration resistance and thermal stability for longer life and greater accuracy. Summit also eliminates the need for shop air because it uses a standard 110/220-volt outlet. The Summit is suited for a wide range of metal cutting and fabrication applications.
