 Press Releases

  • For the first time, ABICOR BINZEL will feature multiple product demonstrations of our latest technologies at the BINZEL Booth #C12328:

    • ABIROB Cyclone - The endless rotation air-cooled robotic torch that reduces cycle times and bolster your productivity.

    • EWR 2 Net - Our new Gas Managemenet System that helps cut weld costs down by optimizing and recording the flow of gas to the weld will be featured in a dedicated display and as part of a live welding cell featuring the Cyclone torch.

    • TH6D Optical Seam Tracker - Real time seam tracking that save operations time and rework. The most comprehensive joint scan and torch adjustment to help eliminate rework, part scrap, and lost time.

    • TES Torch exchange system - Built for welding cells needing a quick neck change to a new robot program or to keep the robot running with virtally no downtime. TES allows for a fast, clean torch neck exchange with the ROBO WH robotic MIG torch to get the cell back in operation.

    • FEC Fume Extraction Cyclone - Smoke extraction at the source is now more power and portable thanks to an increased static pressure of the unit and an easy to maneuver wheeled assembly that allows the welder to move the unit to the most optimal location possible.

Demonstrations will be hourly during show dates and on request. Visit the ABICOR BINZEL Booth #12328 to see our latest welding technologies and how they can serve your manufacturing needs.

  • Bob Moffatt, the straight talking welding knowledge encyclopedian Host of Weld.com, will be at the BINZEL Booth #C12328 on the first day of FABTECH - Tuesday, November 6th from 10 to 11 am.

Weld.com boasts over 200k YouTube subscribers and churns out some of the best welding instructional video out there for welders of all skill level.

Whether it's Stick, MIG, TIG, or Plasma cutting, Bob can do it all and make it look a lot easier than it actually is. While his first love is welding pipe, there isn't a welding project Bob won't sink his electrode into, and he'll be ready to swap stories, give some of his patented sage advice, and drop a little knowledge on BINZEL torches (he is a fan!) for anyone who wants to drop by.

  • EWR 2 / EWR 2 Net Gas Management System
EWR 2 saves on average 30 to 50% on shielding gas use, and with the software package, manufacturers are able to track their gas usage over a weld, a part, a production run, or any length of time desired thanks to network-compatible service software....

  • The newly released gas management system EWR 2  and EWR Net combines gas saving technology with network-compatible data acquisition.

EWR 2 utilizes a closed loop monitoring system featuring fast-action solenoid valves to deliver gas with a software package that allows you to load your gas type, flow rate, and pressure.

EWR 2 saves on average 30 to 50% on shielding gas use, and with the software package, manufacturers are able to track their gas usage over a weld, a part, a production run, or any length of time desired. EWR 2 is also securable thanks to it’s password-protected technology, so management can set their desired outputs while the production team monitors.

EWR 2 will be on display and demonstrated live at FABTECH 2018 at the ABICOCR BINZEL Booth #C12328

  • The new, single torch fume extraction system FEC – short for Fume Extraction Cyclone – removes harmful welding fumes from the welder zone in the most powerful and efficient way possible.

FEC is the most evolved single torch fume extraction system available, using cyclone technology for particle pre-separation to protect the filter surface to reduce filter cleanings. The filter itself an integrated, permanent filtration concept that is easily and quickly cleaned – a Maintenance Manager’s dream.

Disposal of welding dust is performed with the encapsulated de-dusting system and bag for a health-conscious and environmentally friendly waste removal process. The thick plastic walls I quieter than other fume extraction units, and weighing at 25 kg with a full cushion wheel assembly it is easily portable around the shop if needed.

The FEC fume extraction system will be on display and demonstrated live at FABTECH 2018 at the ABICOR BINZEL Booth #C12328.

  • Reduce cycle time? Check. Increase cable life? Check. Optimize welding efficiency? Check.

ABIROB Cyclone robotic torches use “endless rotation” technology to allow the torch neck to rotate 360-degrees completely independent of the welding cable. This means programmers no longer need to worry about the torsional limits of the dreaded axis-6.

Such programming freedom means reduced cycle times, higher outputs, and more on the bottom line for your manufacturing production.

ABIROB Cyclone comes air-cooled up to 500 amps with torch neck angles at 22 and 45-degrees.

ABIROB Cyclone will be on display and it’s endless rotation technology demonstrated in a live welding demonstration at FABTECH 2018 at the ABICOR BINZEL Booth #C12328

  • Weld throughput and reduced scrap are the challenges any welding operation deals with on a daily basis. The 3-line Optical Seam Tracker TH6x uses it’s advanced laser line technology to track the joint in real-time to guide the torch perfectly through the weld joint and create the perfect seam.

Perfectly suited for robotics and hard automation, TH6x’s laser line technology is unique in it’s triple beam sampling to ensure the most accurate joint reading possible, and it performance especially well on reflective surfaces including aluminum, stainless steel, and diamond plate.

The Zero Gap Optical Seam Tracking system TH6i can also track the difficult to weld and program zero gap joints accurately and with no pre-scanning required – including on reflective surfaces.

TH6x’s graphical user interface – also known as GUI – pre-loads the classic joint types for easier programming of the seam tracker to the joint. With a processor that runs independent of the seam tracking hardware – the TH6x runs cooler and it most cost-effective than other seam trackers on the market.

TH6x will be on display and demonstrated live in various formats – robotic and hard automation – at the ABICOR BINZEL Booth #C12328.

  • TES Torch Exchange System
If you use the ROBO WH series of robotic torch, the Torch Exchange System TES is our newest modular torch neck change system. TES allows for quick and reliable exchanging of torch necks for preventative maintenance with controls via PLC or Field Bus....

  • The torch exchange station TES can be used anywhere where welding torches need to be exchanged quickly and reliably. The strengths of the system include a change of torch geometry or even preventive torch changes for servicing wear parts of a TIG welding torch ABITIG. WH or MIG/MAG WH welding torch.

Thanks to the modular system design, up to four TES units can be mated together. The exchange stations are controlled by a PLC or by integrating the TES module into a field bus system. This guarantees full control of the units status at any time. Integrated sensors help record the position of the changing movements and recognize the position of the welding torch for the exchanging process.

The torch exchanging movement is carried out by the welding robot. This allows freedom with respect to designing the welding cell and offers excellent flexibility in positioning the exchange stations in the welding cell – regardless of whether it is on a large gantry welding system in the heavy engineering plant or in compact welding cells in mass production facilities.

In combination with the proven MIG/MAG WH welding torch necks, the integrated cutting of the wire electrodes ensures safe and secure torch exchanges, even if the wire electrode has melted to the contact tip of the welding torch due to poor arc starts, wire feed faults, etc.
