  • With their stainless-steel knot wire strands, these brushes can be used on a variety of metals and on composite, carbon fiber and glass workpieces.

Milwaukee—PFERD diamond-coated wire brushes are ideal for removing localized heavy mill scale prior to welding in hard to reach areas. They are also ideal for other heavy-duty surface conditioning applications, as well as for blending machining marks and generating distinct scratch patterns. The brushes can be used on all metals, such as steel, stainless steel (INOX), and aluminum. Additionally, they can also be used on composite, carbon fiber and glass workpieces for surface conditioning applications.

The brushes feature industrial diamond that is electroplated onto stainless-steel knot wire strands. The stainless-steel wires are then twisted into knots available in wheel and cup brush configurations with the following dimensions: 2-3/4 in. OD cup brush with 5/8-11 in. thread, 4 in. OD cup brush with 5/8-11 in. thread, 7-1/2 in. OD wheel brush with 1-1/4 in. ID arbor hole. They are available in 400 (fine) and 270 (coarse) options.

The stainless-steel wire does not contaminate the workpiece, and all diamond coated wire brushes are degreased to further assure contaminant-free use. They are designed for use on variable speed right angle grinders and other popular power tools found in most fabrication facilities. They have extended knot flag length, providing flexibility on uneven surfaces and complex geometries. The loosely twisted knots cover a large surface area, and they exhibit a good balance between aggressiveness and flexibility. For full effectiveness, the brush speed should not exceed 3,000 rpm.

  • Consistently high performance, due to ceramic oxide grain, marks this latest addition to the extensive line of POLIVLIES® discs.

Milwaukee, WI—PFERD has introduced the POLIVLIES® ceramic oxide

CO-COOL flap disc, the newest addition to its popular line of POLIVLIES® flap, and hook and loop discs. The CO-COOL flap discs provide for an aggressive grinding with maximum stock removal rates on hard materials which do not conduct heat well.

The discs exhibit consistent high performance due to the self-sharpening of their ceramic oxide grain. The coated abrasive flaps of the discs also have active grinding additives in their coating, which substantially improves the stock removal rates and resulting in cooler grinding.

POLIVLIES® CO-COOL discs are available in 4-1/2 and 5 in. diameters, in both plain arbor hole and threaded hub configurations with a maximum speed of rpm 13,300. They are available in coarse-100, medium-180 and fine-240 grit sizes. It is recommended that the discs be used at a recommended peripheral speed of 6,000-6,900 sfpm.

PFERD also provides POLIVLIES® flap discs with Aluminum oxide A abrasive. These discs excel at universal grinding primarily in industry and the professional trades. They also come in coarse, medium and fine grit sizes with a recommended peripheral speed is 6,000 – 6,900 sfpm.

POLIVLIES® ceramic oxide CO-COOL flap discs join the existing POLIVLIES® flap and hook and loop disc product family which is available in an array of grit sizes, diameters and types. They are recommended for work on large surfaces made from stainless steel (INOX) but can be used on nearly all materials and deliver increased economic efficiency due to high abrasive performance and long service life. They conform to contours due to high flexibility and create a consistently high surface quality. They are compatible with angle grinders, including cordless angle grinders.

  • VICTOGRAIN® - precision-formed abrasive grain
VICTOGRAIN® abrasive material is used to make some of the most effective grinding products in the world. PFERD’s triangular, precision-formed grain achieves ultimate performance....

  • Each VICTOGRAIN® abrasive grain triangle is firmly fixed on one of its sides to the backing material. Due to the slim design, VICTOGRAIN® offers an extremely large chip space for maximum cutting efficiency.

The VICTOGRAIN® abrasive grain triangles are identical in shape and size and their cutting edges are applied to the workpiece at the optimum angle, meaning the grain needs very little energy to penetrate the workpiece. As a result, the user experiences superior productivity due to:

    • extremely high stock removal,

    • a long service life,

    • and reduced heat build-up in the workpiece.

The structure of the triangular VICTOGRAIN® is specially engineered to maximize results. The very fine crystalline structure ensures optimal wear characteristics as sharp cutting edges are always exposed, with the minimum amount of abrasive breaking off from the triangle.
By combining all these properties together, users benefit from optimal, consistent performance, cool grinding and an extremely long service life with uniform workpiece surface roughness.
    Applications:
    Leveling
    Deburring
    Surface work
    Work on edges
    Work on weld seams
